It was apparent that Noella did not believe him. She checked the time and asked, “Are you free now?”

“Why?”

“Come with me to a party.”

Kayson was free, so he agreed. Moreover, he wanted to make use of the time he had in the next few days to guide Noella in starting her training.

Noella let out a grunt and said, “Not anymore! There‘s no telling ‘if he‘s moved by conscience or something, but he‘s been

avoiding me all this time since my return to the university.

Joanna giggled and said, “Yes, Lex. This is my best friend, and her name is Noella Whitman.”

The young man nodded and said, “Hello, my name is Lex Jackson, and I‘m a student at Skyspring Technology University.”

Noella said smilingly, “Hello, Lex!”

Lex poured her a drink right away. “Noella, you won‘t mind a drink, right?”

Noella said, “Of course.”

Lex cracked a cynical smile after seeing how Noella downed the drink. “I‘m sure that you‘re very good at drinking, Noella. It seems that I‘ve found my match tonight.”

He downed his drink and darted a look at Kayson. “Who is that?”

Joanna took the lead to explain, “That is Noella‘s new boyfriend. She was still single yesterday, yet she brought her boyfriend with her today. I was taken by surprise too.”

How could Lex possibly not figure out Joanna‘s insinuation?

Soon afterward, he smiled nonchalantly and said in delight, “So that‘s the case, huh? We can‘t just turn away our friend here. Noella, have your boyfriend join us for a drink or two!”
