Bang, bang, bang... Rebecca watched the screen of her phone darkened, and came apart. Then, black holes appeared on the screen.
After a soft sound, the elevator reached the first floor, and just as the prompt rang, Linda stamped her phone screen for the last time. When the door slowly opened, raising her head high and looking at Rebecca viciously, she turned and left.
Rebecca looked at her broken phone on the floor and sighed slightly. Then, she leaned down, picked it up, put it in her pocket, and left the elevator.
She had been using her phone for a few years, and she happened to plan to buy a new one before going abroad.
Everything was just right!
In the vice president's office on the top floor of the Matthey Group office building, Adam was in a chair, holding his cell phone, waiting for Rebecca's reply.
However, almost ten minutes passed... He still didn't receive any response. His heart filled with anticipation gradually fell back to the bottom. It was like a student who got full marks in the exam and waited for the praise with anticipation, but nobody seemed to remember it.
Obviously, Rebecca didn't care about him anymore.
When he realized this, Adam leaned back in his chair, exhausted and even dejected. He closed his eyes and felt as if he was drowning in the tide and it was difficult to breathe.
Rebecca went back to the Williams family's mansion, but Adam didn't come back.
Arthur told her that Adam had gone on a temporary business trip to Los Angels and would not be back until Friday noon.
Rebecca nodded and asked nothing more. After dinner, she went back to her bedroom.
However, at six o'clock on Thursday afternoon, the driver called her and said that he had already waited for her outside the school.
"I'll wait for you outside your school. Come out now and we'll go back together."
"Waiting for her and going back now?!"
Rebecca frowned slightly.
She had arranged to go to lunch with a few classmates and return home after that.
Although in school, Justin and Caroline were the only ones who were close to Rebecca, and she spent very little time with her other classmates, they were still friends.
Now that she was going abroad and her classmates offered to have lunch with her, she couldn't refuse at all.
