Mr. Norman, She's Out of Your League Now novel Chapter 82

Charlotte's voice remained cold and steady as she spoke.

"Three years ago, the Haverfield freight project. Two years ago, the bidding project in Stonefield. Those deals earned your family over one hundred million dollars. Consider that payment in full for 20 years of raising me. As for the emotional debt…"

Her tone turned sharper, edged with sarcasm. "Back then, one of you was too busy working while the other was busy socializing with the wives of wealthy families. I would hardly call that parenting, let alone an investment. So, I owe you nothing."

The words struck hard. Louis froze in place, disbelief written across his face. "What did you just say? How would you know about those two projects?"

Charlotte gave a soft, mocking laugh but offered no explanation. "And how do you think I know about them?"

The color drained from Louis' face. His voice lowered, filled with shock. "You're saying those projects happened because of you?"

Charlotte didn't deny it. She met his gaze head-on, her expression as indifferent as ever. "I'm glad you understand. So, next time, save yourself the trouble and stop trying to guilt me with all this talk about gratitude."

The moment those words fell, Roxanne could no longer hold back. Her voice rose, sharp and furious. "You really have no shame. Those two projects were secured through our own efforts. What does any of that have to do with you? How dare you try to take credit for them?"

Charlotte did not even flinch. Instead, she turned to Louis, her voice calm and cutting.

"Is that so? You should know better than anyone how things went in the beginning. Your company kept hitting dead ends and were unable to secure those deals. And then, suddenly, the companies behind those two projects changed their stance overnight. Am I wrong? Did they not tell you that someone had spoken on your behalf?"

The moment she finished, Louis' expression changed completely. She had hit the mark.

It was true. He had suspected back then that a powerful figure had stepped in. He had tried for months to find out who had helped him but never received an answer. The project leaders simply refused to reveal the name of the person behind the scenes.

Standing here, he finally realized the truth. It was Charlotte. It felt impossible, and his mind refused to accept it.

Charlotte did not back down, and her tone grew even colder. "Mrs. Norman, you come from a prestigious family, do you not? You must feel so superior. Always so eager to remind people that I'm an orphan. Does that make you feel powerful?"

She took a step closer, her gaze unflinching.

"If I remember correctly, Norman Group donates quite a bit every year to orphanages and welfare programs. Those children are grateful for Norman Group's help. But do they know what you really think of them? Do they know that in your eyes, orphans are nothing more than pests beneath your feet?"

Charlotte slowly reached into her bag and pulled out her phone, holding it up without hesitation.

"Say it again. I dare you. Say those words one more time, and I'll make sure to record every word. I'll post it online and let the entire world hear exactly how Mrs. Norman feels about the people her family's company claims to help."

Estelle's face turned ashen. She was left speechless from her anger. She stood frozen, her expression dark and humiliated.
