Everyone was surprised, and when they turned around, they saw Noah sprawled on Jaylene’s bed, struggling to get up.

The scream came from Jaylene.

Noah responded softly with teary eyes, “I was just too nervous to check on her, and I tripped because I ran too fast. n

He was about to say something, but Jaylene finally got over the pain and said hoarsely with a pale face, “Mom, I’m okay. Let it go.”

Her tone was filled with grievance, and her sickly appearance made her look extremely vulnerable.
