"A place where I belong to? Are you kidding me Mr? " Ashley took her hand from David and said sarcastically.

"Do I look like I'm kidding Kitten?" David asked her amusingly.

"Obviously you are. And besides, I'm just going on a travel and my friends will be here to pick me in a while. Thanks but I don't need your help." Ashley pretentiously said.

LIES... David just chuckled. He didn't know the girl can be so cute.

"Are you even sure you have a friend? " David continue to tease her.

"Of course I do. What makes you think I don't? " Ashley crossed her hands on her chest and gave David a poker face.

Now David couldn't hold back and burst into laughter. His mask muffled his laughter.

"Do I look funny to you Mr?" Ashley asked with now her eyes becoming moisture with tears.

David stopped laughing and bend a little to be on the same height with her. He looked straight into her face and wiped her tears.

"Your tears are precious kitten, don't waste it like that. Also you are not funny. I just found you cute. I'm sorry for making you feel bad okay. " David said and stroke Ashley's hair in a gentle motion.

More tears fell from Ashley eyes. The way the stranger was treating her made her felt warm.

She bend her head down not wanting to look at him anymore.

"Were you perhaps got kicked out from your house?" David knew the answer but he asked anyway to verify and to know the truth.

Ashley embarrassingly nodded her head in yes. She doesn't know why but she felt she can trust the man in front of him, though not completely.

"Alright, let's get going. We will talk more on the way home , is that okay with you? " David asked her.

Ashley knitted her eyebrows. Why is this man trying to help me? Or maybe he's a child trafficker? I may somehow feel warmth from his touch, but life has taught me not to trust easily " Ashley said to herself inwardly.

With that she started asking David questions.

"Who are you exactly? " she asked him.

David raised an eyebrow. Is she going to continue this drama in this fucking rain? Damn it, I should have allowed Xander to come get her instead. David said in his mind. Nevertheless, he decided to play along with her.

"You can call me Dave." he intentionally twisted his name. "And also I just wanna help you. " he concluded.

"And why do you wanna help me?" Ashley asked still suspicious.

"Because I think you needed some help when I saw you from my car down there." David shrugged and answered.

"And why were you watching me from your car?" Ashley asked again.

Like seriously? Are we really going to continue this drama. This little girl...... David resisted the urge to massage his forehead.

"Look here kitten, I only want to help you okay. And by the way, are we going to stand in this rain and continue this interrogation from you? " David asked not knowing the answer he should give her.

"Excuse me Mr, were you perhaps stalking me?" Ashley finally asked .

"WHAT?" David asked all surprised. Did she noticed I've been watching her all these while?

"Which one of them?" David asked her.

"Your last statement you just said a while ago. " Ashley cue him.

David went into thoughtful mood and then remembered. " I said, even if I have to die, I won't take advantage of you. I promise I won't hurt yo--" David paused when he realized he had made a big mistake. He remembered he had said the exact same words to her on that faithful night.

Ashley continue to stare at him till her tears over flowed. "Are you Mr Handsome? " she asked through her tears.

The question came like a bomb to David. No no no she can't know I'm that man. I need to do something.

"What Mr Handsome? Kitten, do you know why I'm wearing this mask?" Ashley shook her head in NO

"I'm wearing this mask because my face is extremely ugly. Many people run away from me whenever they see my face. So I have to wear a mask all the time. Understanding? What I'm trying to say is... I'm far away from your so called Mr Handsome. " David said and prayed in his heart that Ashley buy his lies.

In fact he wore the mask because he's afraid Ashley might recognize him. And he doesn't want that because Ashley asked him not to look for her. He didn't know her reasons for saying that but he still wanted to respect that by not revealing himself to her.

Ashley nodded her head in understanding. Though deep inside her, something felt fishy.

"Are these the only things you will need from this house? " David asked her.

"I have some things left inside. I will come for it later when I get accommodation. " Ashley said and bend her head down.

"Let's go take everything you want from this house. Because I don't want you to ever return to this house again. " David instructed her.

"WHAT?" was the only thing Ashley said.
