Chapter 640: Pulling Every String
Chapter 640: Pulling Every String
Daphne’s expression was not great.
But the situation was urgent, and she needed to figure something out.
She called Julia. “She won’t budge. I need someone to go to bat for me, who could I even lo
Julia paused. “Honestly… probably no one.”
“Not a single person?”
“She doesn’t have a good relationship with anyone on our end. And on top of that, this involves me, even if someone tried to par her saying yes aren’t great.”
Daphne wasn’t buying it. “Sure, she and Johnny are close, and she seems to call the shots at Cole now, but this is a may project. If they work with u. Cole stands to make serious money, I think Cole absolutely wants this deal. Whatever Marge’s wing down partnering. It’s just her blowing số steam. The only reason I’m out here chasing her down is because we’re on a deadline and can’t afford to wa
“If we can find a way to let her get it out of her system, she’ll probably come around. And look, the and Johnny aren’t married yet there are deep. If she’s seriously willing to torpedo a deal this good just to spite me, I highly doubt Johnny would go along with that
When she’d first reached out to Johnny, he’d told her to go through Maggie. The way the read it, Johnny was just taking Maggie’s de long enough to let her have her moment. That didn’t mean he’d actually let a project this big walk out the door.
Julia looked down and said carefully, “That’s… not necessarily how it works.”
If Cole were purely Johnny’s and Maggie had no stake in it, maybe. But Maggie was a major shareholder. And from what Julia could tell, Maggie wa hurting for money, she had no reason to swallow her pride for a deal she didn’t want. On top of that, Johnny had always had Maggie’s back, and Col internal decisions seemed to follow her lead.
If Maggie said no, Daphne was out of luck. Plain and simple.
Daphne still wasn’t convinced.
She thought for a second. “What if I asked Franklin to step in? Would that bother you?”
“I don’t mind,” Julia said, “but Franklin probably can’t change her mind at this point.
Daphne had considered that too. From everything she’d seen, Maggie and Johnny seemed genuinely solid. Bringing Franklin into it would probably just make things worse.
“What about reaching out to Johnny’s parents?”
Maggie had been married before and had a kid. Johnny was such a catch, could his parents really have zero reservations about her? And even if they d accepted Maggie, would they really stand by and watch her tank their son’s business over a personal grudge?
Julia hesitated, then told her straight: “I’m afraid that… probably won’t go anywhere either. They seem to like Maggie qune a b
After all, Maggie and Johnny weren’t the couple everyone assumed they were, and when it came to how Cole had gotten to where i was today. I looked a lot more like Maggie was the one driving the bus than the Johnny everyone gave credit to.
Daphne didn’t believe it. She hung up and called the senior Grays anyway.
It went exactly the way Julia said it would. Nowhere
Mr. Gray’s ware was measured and cool. “If there’s bad blood between you ani Maggie, Ms Everly, the best thing you can do is apogize to her. We

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
