Chapter 426
Chapter 426
The morning before Cole’s anniversary, Franklin sent over gowns and jewelry for Julia.
Both the Brown and Green families knew he planned to take her.
When they saw the pieces–worth tens of millions–Sophia exclaimed with admiration and envy, “Brother–in–law always gives you such extravagant gowns and jewels. He really loves spending on you, Sis.”
Julia smiled faintly, saying nothing.
Her mother Janice, though, noticed her daughter’s distracted air these past days. “Julia, something’s on your mind? Has something happened?”
When Julia had first learned of Maggie’s ties to Cole and Nolan, it had crushed her. Her confidence had crumbled. She had only regained it by clinging to Franklin’s feelings for her.
Even when Franklin began admiring Maggie’s abilities in AI, Julia had panicked. But when she saw that it was only professional admiration–and that the one he truly cherished was still her–she calmed again.
But Dallas, and what had happened since, had struck her hard once more. Franklin’s attitude toward Maggie now seemed more than mere “admiration.”
Julia knew she still held a special place in Franklin’s heart. But if Franklin ever discovered that Maggie wasn’t just talented but also a co–founder of Cole and one of Nolan’s students… his feelings might deepen even more.
She didn’t know why Maggie’s identity as Cole’s co–founder and Nolan’s student remained hidden. But tomorrow was Cole’s grand night. If Johnny announced it publicly-
Julia cut off the thought, forcing her expression blank. “It’s nothing.”
Janice had considered whether it was marital trouble. But Franklin’s treatment of Julia and both families remained as generous as ever. She set her suspicions aside.
Sophia, oblivious, pouted. “I heard Cole booked out the entire hotel for tomorrow.”
It was New York’s most exclusive venue–renting it out cost nearly nine figures.
“But for Cole, that’s nothing,” she added.
The others recalled Cole’s recent financial reports: hundreds of billions in net profit already this year alone. By year’s end, they might reach a trillion. In a few years, Johnny could become one of the world’s wealthiest men.
And if Maggie married Johnny-
The thought made the Green and Brown family members grind their teeth.
Julia lowered her eyes, silent. None of them knew Maggie’s true role in Cole–or her ties to Nolan. If they did…
Her uncle muttered, “If not for Maggie, we’d be going to Cole’s gala ourselves.”
“Exactly!” Sophia snapped. “This is the event of the year–business tycoons, politicians, everyone. And we’re shut out, all because of her!”
Tracy added bitterly, “Franklin should buy you even more expensive jewels, Julia, to put her in her place. Show her who’s truly superior.”
Sophia eagerly echoed, “Yes! He’s done it before. Why not this time?”
Julia rose calmly. “I’m heading out.”
Seeing her displeasure, Sophia and Tracy quickly fell silent.
Janice shot them a sharp glance. Both girls realized they’d overstepped. Franklin was already more than generous; to demand endlessly risked

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
