Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time novel Chapter 420

Chapter 420

That afternoon. Maggie had barely returned from Wilson Group when her phone rang.

It was Sally’s psychiatrist. Sally had briefly regained clarity earlier, but soon after, had fallen into one of her rare, severe breakdowns.

Maggie’s face changed, and she rushed to the hospital. How could this happen? What caused it?

We’ve looked carefully. No external triggers.

But if there was no trigger, why would Sally suddenly collapse like this?

Watching her mother, sedated and asleep on the monitor, Maggie spent a long time talking with the doctor before leaving, heavyhearted.

When the elevator opened at the next floor, she found herself facetoface with Sophia and Old Mrs. Green.

Sophia shot her a glare, then gave a haughty sniff and ushered her grandmother into the car.

Inside, with others present, Sophia looked sideways at Maggie and deliberately said to Old Mrs. Green, Grandma, Sis isn’t coming home for dinner again tonight. I heard Isabella’s been begging to see her. It’s only been a few days, and she already misses her terribly. Tonight Sis and Brotherinlaw are eating out.

Old Mrs. Green chuckled. Is that so?

Of course Maggie knew they meant her to hear.

Already distressed about Sally, her first suspicion was that they had somehow provoked her mother into this state. But the doctor had insisted Sally hadn’t had

outside contact.

Still

Hearing Sophia’s words, her gaze turned icy.

Sophia met it without flinching, chin raised as if to say, What are you looking at? Think I’m afraid of you?

The elevator dinged open. Maggie gave them a cold glance and walked out first.

Back at Cole, work awaited. She and Johnny had been meaning to meet with their old mentor’s wife, Yulia. They’d missed her last time, but tonight they finally

had a date.

At seven, Maggie drove to the restaurant.

As she pulled in at the entrance, she spotted three familiar figures: Franklin, Julia, and Isabella.

Isabella held Julia’s hand, chattering happily, tugging her forward. Julia followed patiently, cautioning her to slow down. Franklin trailed at ease behind them.
