Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time novel Chapter 412

After returning from Dallas, Maggie had two days off. She rested the first day. The next morning, just after breakfast, her phone rang.

It was Franklin.

Maggie glanced at the screen and answered. What is it?

Grandmother was discharged a couple of days ago. She’d like to invite you to the old house for a meal.

Maggie already knew Old Mrs. Wilson had been dischargedit was just that she’d been on a business trip in Dallas and hadn’t been able to pick her up herself.

Got it,Maggie said. She was about to hang up when Franklin added, I’ll come pick you up now.

No need, I’ll drive my-

Isabella says I should go with her to the Miller residence to pick you up,Franklin said. She’s already got her shoes on.

All right,Maggie said.

We’ll be there soon.

Maggie said nothing more, and Franklin hung up.

About half an hour later, Franklin and Isabella arrived at the Miller home.

The others weren’t in. Seeing Maggie, Isabella hopped out of the car and ran over to hug her. Mom!

Franklin lowered the driver’s window and watched them.

In the car, Isabella chattered about her recent outings and said the gifts she’d bought for Maggie were already at the old house.

While Maggie talked with Isabella, Franklin focused on driving. When Isabella ran out of things to say, he glanced back and asked, You’re off these two days?

Mm,Maggie replied.

They didn’t have much to talk about. After that question, Franklin didn’t initiate any more conversation on the drive.

Old Mrs. Wilson was very fond of Maggie. Seeing her come to the old house, she was delighted.

Maggie, reassured by how much better the old lady looked, relaxed as well.

Franklin was quite busy, while Maggie chatted with the old lady, his phone hardly stopped ringing.

After lunch, Maggie had planned to stay a bit and head home in the afternoon. But then a torrential rain started and didn’t let up.

Old Mrs. Wilson hadn’t been well for long and needed her rest; she napped in the afternoon. Franklin said to Maggie, If you’re tired, go upstairs and rest a

while.

Before Maggie could answer, Isabella tugged her upstairs.

Maggie didn’t go to Franklin’s room but to Isabella’s. She had cleared most of her daily things out of Franklin’s place, but she hadn’t done that at the old house, and there were still a few changes of her clothes in Isabella’s room.

In Isabella’s room, Maggie was about to find a set of her pajamas when Franklin knocked on the doorframe.

Maggie turned. Before she could speak, Franklin saw her rifling through Isabella’s wardrobe and guessed she was looking for sleepwear, so he said nothing more. His gaze fell on Isabella on the bed. Asleep?

Mm.

Franklin nodded. Good afternoon.

With that, he gently closed the door for them and left.
