Chapter 357
On Monday morning, Maggie had just arrived at her company building when she ran into Glen, who was also just getting to work.
Glen greeted her with a smile,
“Morning.”
“Morning,” Maggie replied.
Just as the words left her mouth, she caught sight of Jimmy.
The moment she saw him, Maggie’s steps faltered ever so slightly.
Glen noticed him too and frowned, clearly displeased.
Jimmy, however, didn’t even glance Glen’s way. He walked straight toward Maggie.
“I just got back early yesterday morning. It’s been a while–I wanted to see you.”
Jimmy truly had no other motive.
He understood her stance and didn’t want to make things harder for her or annoy her.
Seeing the tension in her eyes, he added,
“You’re busy–I won’t stay long. Just wanted to say hi.”
To be honest, Maggie had already said everything there was to say between them.
His sudden appearance left her at a bit of a loss for words.
Since he was being considerate, Maggie didn’t bother with pleasantries. She simply nodded and turned to head
upstairs.
Glen gave Jimmy a long glance before silently following her into the building.
Jimmy watched her walk away, unmoving for a moment. Then he turned back toward his car.
Inside, a bouquet of flowers sat on the seat beside him.
He had originally brought them for her, but judging by her reaction, if he’d actually pulled them out, she probably would’ve been even more put off–and might start avoiding him altogether.

Jimmy let out a helpless smile.
Glen pressed the elevator button, entering the elevator with Maggie.
He glanced at her, but said nothing.
Noticing this, Maggie asked,
“What is it?”
Glen shook his head.
“Nothing.”
But after a moment, he couldn’t help but ask,
“That Mr. Hall… does he ask to see you
often?”
Maggie shook her head,
“No.”
Jimmy’s job came with a demanding schedule and rare holidays. Even if he wanted to meet up, he rarely had the
time.
Maggie’s firm rejection earlier had actually put Glen at ease.
Still, he couldn’t help but worry–if Jimmy pursued her persistently, would she eventually cave?
That train of thought led him to suddenly recall Harry.
As far as Glen knew, Harry also had feelings for Maggie.
But He hadn’t appeared for quite some time, and like Glen himself, he’d never truly pursued her openly.
Why?
Had he given up?
Glen hesitated, then looked at Maggie and finally asked,
“I’m just a little curious…”
“Hmm?”

Glen continued,
“Mr. Hall has a lot going for him, but you don’t seem interested at all. Why is that?”
He wasn’t just asking about Jimmy. He was trying to understand if Maggie had any specific red flags or dealbreakers when it came to relationships–things he should be careful to avoid if he ever had a chance.
In Maggie’s mind, Glen had never been the nosy type.
Since it was the first time he’d asked her something personal, she didn’t mind being honest.
“I’m not officially divorced yet. How could I consider someone else? Besides, I’m sure about this–I’m not interested in Mr. Hall.”
That surprised Glen.
He had assumed Maggie was already divorced.
“You… you’re not officially divorced yet?”
Maggie shook her head.
“No. Not yet.”
Just as she said that, the elevator doors opened.
Maggie walked out and headed to her office to begin her day
Glen stayed behind, staring at her retreating figure, his mind momentarily blank.
And then… something occurred to him.
Maybe the reason Harry hadn’t pursued her wasn’t because he’d given up-
Maybe he knew Maggie wasn’t divorced yet.
Or… perhaps Harry knew Maggie’s husband.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
