Chapter 331
Thanks to the fact that Sally’s illness was still in its early stages and the degree of organ failure wasn’t yet critical. Dr. Quincy and her team were able to make several adjustments based on Sally’s condition. Eventually, they succeeded in developing a treatment plan that could help stabilize his health.
When the news came, the tension that had been straining Maggie and the old Madam Miller finally eased. The dark cloud that had been hanging over the Miller family for half month was finally lifted.
That night, overjoyed and moved to tears, the old madam even personally cooked dinner to celebrate with the family.
After the meal, just as Maggie sat down in the living room with the old lady, her phone rang–it was a call from
Isabella.
It had actually been over a month since the mother and daughter last spoke.
Technically, Maggie should’ve answered the last call Isabella made.
But back then, Sally had just been diagnosed with organ failure, and her own emotions were in turmoil. She hadn’t been in the mood to pick up.
Now…
When she saw the caller ID, the old madam said, “Take the call.”
Though she’d never openly blamed Isabella for getting close to Julia, the old madam couldn’t pretend she didn’t mind. Not seeing Maggie bring Isabella around lately, she had already guessed–Maggie was worried that her daughter’s presence would only worsen her already fragile emotional state.
In truth, if Isabella had shown up in those difficult days, it probably would’ve tipped her over into anger and
bitterness.
But now that hope had returned with her daughter’s improving condition, the old madam naturally wanted mother
and daughter to reunite.
Maggie looked at Isabella’s name on the screen. After a few seconds, she answered the call.
Isabella had originally planned to call her mom again after a few days. But when she’d told her dad about wanting to call, the same dad who usually encouraged her to do just that, had instead said: “Your mom’s got too much on her plate right now. Give her a little space.” So, Isabella had forced herself to wait.
But today, she just couldn’t hold it in any longer.
She called–and to her shock, her mom actually picked up.
The moment she heard Maggie’s voice, Isabella’s emotions surged, as always. “Mom!”

Chapter 331
Before Maggie could say anything, her daughter’s voice turned soft and aggrieved, “You finally picked up.. You have no idea how much I’ve missed you lately…”
Listening to that tearful, nasal voice, Maggie lowered her eyes, suppressing the emotion in them before speaking calmly, “Did you have dinner?”
“I did!” Isabella’s voice brightened instantly at her inom’s response. “Mom, when will you be free? I could come tomorrow–or, no, I could come right now! Can I?”
Maggie replied, “I have to work tomorrow, but if you really want to come, then come.”
Then, remembering something, she added, “But check with your dad first–only come if he says it’s okay-”
“He will say yes!” Isabella cut her off excitedly before she could finish. “I’m packing right now! Mom, wait for me!”
She hung up before Maggie could reply.
Then she turned to Franklin, who was sitting beside her and said, beaming, “Mom said I can go see her!”
Franklin turned a page of his book before glancing up. “Got it. Want me to drive you?”
‘No need!” Isabella dashed upstairs with Aunt Sara to pack.
A few minutes later, she ran down the stairs with a small backpack on. As she rushed past Franklin, still calmly reading in the living room, she didn’t even pause to look at him. Waving as she sprinted out the door, she called, “Dad, I’m heading out now!”
Franklin finally tilted his head and looked toward her small figure disappearing down the steps. “Mm. Be careful on the road–and good night.”
“Good night!”

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
