Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire novel Chapter 922

When Alex heard the news, she chimed in quickly. “No need to reach out, ma'am. Justin's already hashed out a deal with Bennett Corporation. They're set to transfer the supply rights from Irwin Enterprises, so you’ll need to sign the contract with them.”

That simple statement carried a lot of weight.

Selena got the drift right away. Bennett Corporation had swooped in and snagged the contract from Fortune Enterprises through some questionable means. Justin's eagerness to move forward wasn’t because he wanted to bow out gracefully. Everett, that sly fox, must have worked some sneaky magic.

Everett seemed to pick up on Selena's thoughts, a smug smile creeping across his lips without a hint of guilt. “Business is business, right? Everyone's got their own tricks up their sleeve.”

Fortune Enterprises couldn't hold a candle to Bennett Corporation. Plain and simple, it was Justin dropping the ball.

“What’s the deal, Ms. Selena? Scared to do business with Bennett Corporation?” Everett taunted.

Selena strolled in, pulled out a chair, and sat down, her dark eyes locking onto his challenging gaze.

After a moment, she spoke softly, “Weren't you the one who wanted nothing to do with me?”

Doing business with Irwin Enterprises meant they'd inevitably cross paths. Even if he handed off the details to someone else, avoiding each other was unlikely.

What was he really playing at?

Everett let out a chuckle, “Ms. Selena, don’t overanalyze. You’re the mother of my child, after all. Everything you have will eventually be our child's. I’m not stingy about helping Irwin Enterprises make money. And let’s be real, I just don’t want you flaunting other men in front of our kids.”

Selena kept her cool through the first part, but the latter part was infuriating.

She let out a sarcastic laugh, “So, Mr. Everett, what you're saying is, you want to stick your nose into my business affairs and my personal life?”

“Everett, have you no shame?”

He was the one who didn't want to reconcile, the one out on dates, and now he was meddling in her business!

Selena bit her lip hard, her chest rising and falling with anger.

She grabbed the document, swiftly flipping through it, ensuring there were no hidden traps. The terms were even better than those negotiated with the Chen Corporation.

Suddenly, she laughed, “Since Mr. Everett is so eager to throw money at Irwin Enterprises, in the spirit of business, why not sign?”

She waved the contract at Everett, adding a hint of sarcasm, “Thanks for your generosity, Mr. Everett.”

Everett grinned back, “Ms. Selena, you sure know how to play the game. Looks like you’ve picked up a few tricks in the business world.”

Selena shot back, “Compared to Mr. Everett's shameless cunning, I'm just a small fish in the pond.”

As the two of them exchanged pointed words, Alex and Holt exchanged nervous glances, trying their best to stay out of the line of fire.
