Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire novel Chapter 243

Everett's voice was deliciously husky, laced with a magnetic pull that sent shivers down her spine. Selena almost rolled her eyes at the classic line about 'just cuddling, and not going all the way'—what a load of nonsense. She knew better.

"I'm really tired," Selena declined once more, trying to maintain her composure.

But Everett was having none of it. He captured her wrists, gently pressing them to her cheeks, his lips trailing soft kisses down her collarbone and nibbling at that little beauty mark of hers. The sensation sent a jolt through her, her porcelain skin blushing a deep pink, and her eyes becoming hazy with emotion.

"Mrs. Bennett, you want this too, don’t you..." he teased, his voice a low chuckle in her ear. Selena felt a confusing mix of embarrassment and indignation. Despite her resistance, he had a knack for awakening her desires.

Sensing her resolve wavering, he coaxed softly, "You don’t have to do a thing—just lie back and enjoy. If it gets too much, I’ll be gentle, alright?"

Selena’s grip tightened, her mind still battling her heart.

Everett leaned his forehead against hers, nuzzling her tenderly like a big, affectionate puppy. "Just this once, okay?" he pleaded.

He let her feel his eagerness, whispering, "See, it misses you."

"Mrs. Bennett, let me..." he murmured, gently taking her earlobe between his lips. "Selena, I missed you, is that okay?"

Her palms were practically on fire, her cheeks burning hotter by the second. When he said her name, her heart felt like it was about to burst into flames.

Had he been the forceful Everett of old, ignoring her wishes, she might have stayed unmoved. But this slow, relentless approach—how could she possibly resist?

Selena's ears were so hot they could've ignited, and ever so slowly, she nodded.

Everett, clearly at his wits' end, brought them together in a deep, intimate connection. A wave of indescribable pleasure surged through him, stirring his very soul.

Being with Everett, his kindness, his gentle touch, his profound intimacy—it was intoxicating. With just a smile, he could steal a woman’s soul, let alone when he was treating her like this.

She admitted she didn’t have the strength to resist.

He was the boy who had caught her eye in her youth, the one who made her heart skip a beat. He was also the one who had been by her side through the darkest times of her life, after her parents passed away.

Only distance might help her forget and move on. If they met again someday, she hoped she could simply smile and say, "Long time no see."

But she knew Everett wasn’t ready to let her go—he was still infatuated with her... body. Plus, with his grandfather and other factors, he wouldn’t release her easily.

So she had to keep up appearances, pretending she wanted to settle down with him. If he was willing to stick to their agreement and finalize the divorce, they would split the assets in two months and that would be ideal. But if he changed his mind, she'd need to have an escape plan ready.
