Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 710

"Josie, I've been suspicious of Sydney too. Are you saying you've noticed something off as well?"

Josefina nodded. "A friend of mine overheard someone calling Shay, but that's not her name—it’s neither Shay nor Sydney. So, I'm trying to dig into who Shay and Sydney really are. Was Sydney deliberately cozying up to Uncle Brandon? Could she and Shay be scheming for the Baldwin family's fortune?"

Brandon felt a sense of relief, like he had found a kindred spirit. "I thought the same. She must've known about Rowan's identity to get close to him."

Snagging the Baldwin family's fortune would be like hitting the lottery.

After their conversation, Josefina finally parted ways with Brandon.

...

Josefina, Percy, and Luke met up and headed over to Livia's place. Lisa was sent out of the room, and the four of them sat in Livia's room, ready to chat.

Luke broke the ice. "I followed Dominic around the villa and saw a ton of daisies in the garden, along with several cherry blossom trees. Not only that, but I noticed Sydney’s family seems to favor Japanese cuisine. This doesn’t necessarily mean they’re Japanese, but when Dominic was called away for five minutes, I overheard two servants speaking Japanese. They mentioned they had spiked the snacks with sleeping pills."

Josefina sneered, "No wonder Sydney had Shay serve me tea and snacks. They planned to make sure I wouldn't be coming back."

Livia chimed in, "Shay's a white lotus, Sydney's green tea, Dominic's definitely a snake, and Rowan is just clueless. What a family."

Luke agreed, "Livia, you nailed it!"

Percy added, "It seems Sydney really does have ties to Japan. We should follow this lead and investigate further. We can't let this clue slip by."

Josefina nodded, "Absolutely. We need to pursue this angle. Luke, I’ve sent you the details of Rowan’s trip to Japan. Follow up on that."

"Got it, I’m on it."

"I’m calling Oliver!"

Rowan picked up his phone, only to find out Oliver had turned his off.

Rowan was even more furious, "Does Oliver know I’d be looking for him, and that’s why he turned off his phone?"

Shay suggested, "Brother might be on a business trip, probably on a plane, which is why his phone is off."

"If that’s the case, Oliver must’ve called his grandpa, and that’s why he came over."

Sydney sighed, "Rowan, I can’t even stand up now. How am I supposed to take care of you in the future?"

"Sydney, why talk like that? Your legs will get better. Tomorrow, I’ll go see Josefina, and I’ll ask her if she can truly heal your legs! If she dares to refuse, I’ll make sure she regrets it!"
