Brandon paused as Bennett handed him a water bottle.
"Looks like Oliver and Dominic are stirring up something. Let's check it out together," Bennett suggested.
"Alright, just make sure to take care of yourself too," Brandon replied with a smile. "Thanks to the supplements Josie's been giving me and my morning yoga, I'm feeling much better."
The two made their way toward the living room.
...
Upon entering, Brandon and Bennett found Oliver and Josefina sitting together, with Dominic across from them. Brandon sighed internally at the sight. Oliver and Dominic were like oil and water.
Stepping in, Brandon casually asked, "What brings all of you to my place today?"
"Just checking in on you," Oliver replied, avoiding any mention of the supplements. Josefina didn't bring it up either.
Josefina flashed a grin. "Grandpa Brandon, Oliver and I came to visit. Do you not want us here?"
"Of course, I do! I’d love it if you and Oliver came by every day. This house could use the energy," Brandon beamed.
Dominic, sitting off to the side, frowned at the warm interaction, feeling somewhat left out. To him, they seemed just like a family.
Not wanting to be outdone, Dominic chimed in, "Grandpa, I've brought you some prime steak, figured it could help strengthen you up a bit."
"Thank you, Dominic. That's very thoughtful of you," Brandon acknowledged.
Before Josefina could respond, Oliver coldly interjected, "We've already tried that. Your mom wouldn't let Josie near and even claimed an allergy to her treatment. I don't think another visit would change anything. Mrs. Jiang's leg might just be beyond help at this point."
Dominic was livid.
"Oliver, watch your mouth. There's nothing wrong with my mom's health, and her leg will heal. She'll stand on her own again!" Dominic retorted, barely containing his anger.
Oliver lounged back, his disdain barely concealed. "Oh, what? Can't handle the truth? Your mother rejected Josie's help, and now you're shamelessly asking again. If you're seeking help, at least show some humility. Your attitude is all wrong."
Josefina added, "Mrs. Jiang refused treatment and hasn't found success elsewhere. I'm sorry, but I'm not interested in trying again."
Dominic, struggling to control his temper, turned to Brandon. "Grandpa, can you please talk some sense into them?"
