Xavier, what a piece of work that guy is. His antics could practically write a drama series all on their own.
First, he had some goon mess with Mandy, only to swoop in like a knight in shining armor to "save" her and win her over. It's like something straight out of a cheesy movie.
...
When Alivia woke up, Hattie was right there, helping her sit up and filling her in on how Josefina had come to her rescue. Alivia stayed silent, her mind a jumble of emotions. She never would've guessed that Josefina, of all people, would be the one to save her.
"Mom, Josie's got some serious skills. If things get worse, maybe we should let her give it a shot," Hattie suggested.
Alivia remained quiet, and Hattie didn't push further.
"Grandma, Mom, I need to step out for a bit," Josefina said, walking over. She figured sticking around might not be the best idea, giving Hattie and Alivia some space to talk seemed like the right move.
...
Josefina headed over to Oliver's place, which wasn't too far from her own home. As she walked in, she found Oliver shirtless, in the middle of a phone call.
"George, make sure everything's ready, and keep the packaging youthful and cute. If you're clueless, just look it up online. Don't go rogue on me," Oliver instructed, sensing a pair of eyes on him. He turned to meet Josefina's intense gaze.
"I've gotta go," he said, hanging up.
"Oliver, what are you made of, iron? Work's important, but you've got to take care of yourself. Sit down, let me check your wound," Josefina insisted.
As Oliver took a seat, he couldn't help but praise her, "Josie, your treatment's really something. My wound's healing way faster than I expected."
"And you're using my medicine as an excuse to skip out on rest?" she chided.
"Josie, don't be mad. I promise I'll take it easy, okay?" Oliver pleaded.
