Alivia huffed, "I'm not going back!"
Mandy protested, "Reid, I've got school, man. I can't just up and leave."
Dorian, always the serious one, quipped, "Didn’t you skip boot camp? Who else should drive you? You clearly have the time."
Mandy fell silent. Dorian was always stern, but never this cold.
At the end of the day, it was all Josefina's fault!
Plopping angrily onto the couch, Mandy didn't budge. "I'm not going back. School's about to start, I've got classes, no time for this."
Suddenly, Alivia struggled to breathe, nearly passing out.
Hattie, ever so patient, fed her another quick-acting heart pill. Just as Alivia caught her breath, she heard Hattie yelling towards Josefina, "Josie, we’re out of those heart pills! Got any more? If not, time to whip up a new batch for grandma."
Learning that her lifesaver was crafted by Josefina left Alivia stunned, disbelief written all over her face.
"What did you just say? She makes these? Hattie, you too, spinning tales now?" Alivia's skepticism was palpable.
Hattie chuckled, "Mom, when have I ever lied? Josie’s medical skills are even better than Lena’s. Don't believe me? Give it a try, maybe Josie can even get you on your feet."
"Hattie, keep dreaming! Even if she claimed she's Anya, I wouldn't buy it. Now you're telling me she's a doctor who can make me walk? Pull the other one!"
Alivia, visibly irked, commanded Mandy, "Get me a glass of water."
Reluctantly, Mandy got up and handed her a glass.
Oliver, trying to steer Josefina away from the drama, was unsuccessful.
Handing Josefina a fork, he raised his voice a bit, "Josie, you should eat. After, I'll drive you to school."
Josefina glanced at her family, a mix of laughter and tears in her eyes. "You think now's a good time for me to eat?"
