Josefina turned the object in her hand and realized it was a key.

"Oliver, you didn’t buy me a house, did you? Seriously, my family’s already loaded me up with properties. I really don’t need another one."

Oliver gently tousled Josefina's hair, leaning in close to look into her eyes. "It's not a house," he said slowly.

Josefina stared at the key, still confused. "If it’s not a house, then what is it?"

"A safety deposit box key?" she guessed.

Oliver shook his head. "It's a jewelry store."

Josefina’s jaw dropped. "Oliver, are you out of your mind? You bought me a jewelry store? Are you sure you didn’t make a mistake?" She could hardly believe what she was hearing.

Was this guy serious?

"I’m absolutely sure. I bought a jewelry store for you. Josie, you love gold, so I thought this would be the perfect gift. Something that truly speaks to you."

Oliver then pulled out a document and a red ink pad, grabbing Josefina’s finger to press her fingerprint onto the paper.

Josefina yanked her hand back. "Oliver, what are you doing?"

"The jewelry store is yours, but you need to sign for it. I figured you wouldn’t want to sign, so a fingerprint will do. It’s less of a hassle."

Josefina couldn’t help but laugh in disbelief. "Less hassle? Oliver, this isn’t about convenience. I can’t accept such an extravagant gift!"

"Josie, only valuable gifts are worthy of you. If it wasn’t valuable, how could I give it to you?" Oliver insisted, taking her hand again.

Josefina pulled her hand back, starting a tug-of-war. "Oliver, I can’t accept this gift. Please, don’t."

"Josie, it’s just a gift, not a marriage proposal. Don’t be scared."

All Josefina could think was how terrified she actually was.

"Oliver, calm down. If you had given me flowers today, I would have happily accepted. But a jewelry store? I can’t accept that."
