Upon learning that Josefina was living the good life on Rose Bay Island with her beloved mentor, Garrett couldn't help but feel grateful.
"Josie skipped breakfast too, huh? I've had the kitchen whip up some extra Westwood specialties for us to try. Dig in with us," Garrett said with a warm smile.
"Come on, Grant, have a meal at home for once," Josefina chimed in.
She knew Grant wasn't much of a breakfast person and probably hadn't eaten yet.
Grant, seeing no reason to refuse such hospitality, readily agreed.
...
Josefina led Grant to her lab and then gave him a tour of the garden, introducing him to the various blooms. Some she had planted herself, while others she had lovingly transplanted from Rose Bay Island.
In the midst of this, Dorian, Reid, and Calix rushed home, brimming with urgency.
Panting, Calix exclaimed, "Where's this guy? My sister calling him 'brother'? No way, the only brothers she has are us three!"
Reid, with a hint of annoyance, added, "I even put my projects on hold to come check this out. Who is this guy that's suddenly Josie's brother?"
Dorian tried to calm them down, "Guys, cool it a bit, will ya?"
Calix shot back, "Dorian, you're the least calm among us. Weren't you all fired up on the phone? You bailed on your meeting just to be here. You're really that worried about this guy?"
Dorian fell silent.
Cornered, Dorian shot Calix a glare, "You sure talk a lot."
"Dorian, I'm just stating the obvious. If Josie is calling this guy 'brother,' they must be close. If we don't step up, she'll be someone else's sister," Calix sighed heavily.
Reid retorted, "Have you lost your mind? Josie is our blood sister; she's obviously closest to us. And even if this guy was her 'brother' before, he's not blood. She's definitely closer to us."
Dorian agreed, "Reid's right, Calix. Are you out of your mind?"
