Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 499

Before long, Finley walked in, a shy girl trailing timidly behind him. With her head bowed, she looked anxious and uneasy.

"Oliver, Josefina, you guys are too kind. It's your treat, but I insist on picking up the tab," Finley said with a broad smile as he entered.

The girl followed closely behind him.

"This is Shanna," Finley introduced her, "she's my... girlfriend."

Shanna's petite frame trembled in disbelief, her head snapping up to look at Finley. Girlfriend? Why would he say that? Wasn't he into Shay?

A bewildered Shanna stared at Finley. "You're saying... I'm your girlfriend?"

Her voice made Josefina's eyes widen in shock. She quickly sat down beside Shanna, gently taking her hand. "Livia, Livia, is that you? Livia, it's me, Josefina!"

Shanna looked up, her eyes full of confusion. "Who are you?"

Finley was just as stunned. Livia? Was Shanna actually Livia? What were the odds?

Oliver was equally surprised. No wonder Josefina thought this girl looked familiar. How could she not? This was Josie's dear friend!

Livia eyed Josefina, visibly frightened, and let go of her hand to run to Finley's side, looking back at Josefina with fear and uncertainty.

"Livia, don't you remember me?" Josefina asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.

Finley explained, "She has amnesia. She can't remember her past."

Josefina, overwhelmed with emotion, demanded, "Where did you find Livia?"

"I found her at sea, wounded by a gunshot. I worried she was being hunted, so I didn't call the authorities. I never imagined you two knew each other."

Oliver added, "Livia is Josie's close friend. She's been searching for her tirelessly, to no avail."

Finley looked down at the girl beside him and asked softly, "Do you remember her? Anything at all?"

Livia shook her head, her voice tinged with panic. "I don't know her."

Oliver couldn't help but chuckle and shake his head as he held Josefina's hand, trying to soothe her. "Josie, don't get worked up. I'll talk to Finley in a bit."

"No need. It's plain as day what he's up to. Shanna, Shay—the names are a dead giveaway. Livia's leaning on him, clinging to his arm."

The more Josefina thought about it, the angrier she got. Livia didn't deserve to fall into the clutches of a jerk like Finley—Josefina felt outraged on her behalf.

Oliver shared Josefina's sentiments. If that was truly the case, Finley was indeed asking for a punch.

...

Inside, Finley and Livia were also discussing the matter.

Finley looked equally helpless as he said, "I had no idea you were Josefina's friend. Shea, you..."

"Don't call me that name. I don't like it," Livia cut him off, frowning.

Even without her memories, she knew she detested that name.
