Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 488

Finley shoved Shanna into the car and clicked the locks into place.

"Let me out!" Shanna yelled, her anger boiling over.

"Cut the tantrum, will you? If you're not up for my birthday bash, then I'll have the driver take you home. I've got friends coming over and they need hosting. Head back now, and I'll catch up with you later."

Finley stepped out of the car, giving the driver a nod to take Shanna back.

When Finley arrived at the private booth, he only saw Oliver. Josefina was nowhere in sight.

"Oliver, where's your better half?"

Oliver sighed, "Family emergency, Josie had to jet off early."

Finley just shook his head.

Those two really were two peas in a pod!

After a moment's thought, Oliver asked, "Who was that girl?"

"Somebody who doesn't matter. Come on, let's drink to our heart's content. Tonight, we're not stopping until we're absolutely sloshed."

Finley grabbed a bottle and clinked it against Oliver's, both taking a hefty swig.

Meanwhile, back at home, Josefina had rushed over to her grandparents' house.

The moment Emily caught sight of Josefina in her pristine white dress, she beamed, "Josie, you look absolutely ravishing."

Josefina had dashed back, fearing the worst about her grandma's health.

Relieved to find her well, she exhaled a sigh of relief.

Grandpa Robert awkwardly explained, "Josie, your grandma's fine. She wanted you here because she had a bit of a stomachache. I hope we didn't interrupt anything important."

Grandpa Robert came over with a plate of pastries and a drink, "Josie, take your grandma's gift. And here, try some of the fresh pastries I made this afternoon."

After washing her hands, Josefina returned and took a bite of the pastry, her eyes lighting up with delight.

"Grandpa, these homemade pastries are divine."

Grandpa Robert chuckled, "Your grandma's the master baker. Since she was out of commission, I've been missing these treats like crazy."

Emily, full of maternal warmth, said, "Josie, if you like them, take some more home. I'll bake a different batch tomorrow. I'll make sure you get to try every variety I can whip up."

"Thanks, Grandma," Josefina said, her smile as sweet as the pastries she enjoyed.

Pleased by how much Josefina savored her cooking, Emily's affection for her granddaughter only grew.

Once Josefina finished her treat, she thought of Paula and decided to bring her up.

"Grandpa, Grandma, do you remember Paula?"
