The collaboration between Josefina and Fox was finally happening. Fox walked into the office solo, ready to meet Josefina.
Remus spotted Fox and felt a surge of anger. He couldn’t understand why Josefina was so keen on partnering with Fox. What could possibly come out of this?
Feeling restless and annoyed, Remus barged into Josefina’s office.
Fox had already left, deal in hand, his energy through the roof. He was already back at his workshop, burning the midnight oil.
"Ms. Josefina, since you got back, you've been handling every little thing. What about me? What am I supposed to do?"
Josefina looked up calmly, "Mr. Remus, if you're itching for something to do, why not head over to the factory? Check on the latest fabric batch and report back to me."
Remus was taken aback, "Ms. Josefina, I'm not here to do busywork. HQ sent me to assist you, not to be sidelined and left with nothing meaningful to do."
Josefina leaned back in her chair, taking her time, "Mr. Remus, you’ve misunderstood. Have I restricted your freedom or safety? You’re free to take on whatever tasks you want. Since you're so eager, why not handle these two collaborations?"
She handed him the contracts with Fox and another company.
Remus eagerly grabbed them, already mentally kicking Fox out the door.
"Don’t worry, Ms. Josefina, I won’t let you down."
With a spring in his step, Remus left to dive into his new responsibilities.
Josefina allowed herself a small, knowing smile and went back to her work.
...
At six-thirty in the evening, Josefina walked out of the building. A rideshare was waiting at the curb. The driver saw her, rolled down the window, and waved.
Josefina walked over and smoothly got in.
