Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 1135

Hattie cut him off, her voice dripping with irritation, "If you know taking what's not yours is bad manners, then why are you so eager to play the fool?"

Cassandra blinked, caught off guard. What was up with this aunt? How did she switch gears so quickly?

Hattie pressed on, "You said your grandma chose to leave her assets to our Josie of her own accord. We didn't force her. As her biological granddaughter, you didn't get her blessing. Isn't that a bit embarrassing? And yet, here you are, shamelessly airing it out!"

Cassandra stammered, "I..."

"What do you mean, 'I'? Are you trying to say you're embarrassed too?" Hattie was relentless. "It's one thing to be embarrassed, but to do it right in front of me? If your grandma knew, she'd probably haunt your dreams!"

Cassandra shivered, imagining her grandma's stern face, sending a chill down her spine.

"Josie is my daughter, and I know her character inside out. You try to bully her, and I'll make sure you get a taste of your own medicine!" Hattie snapped fiercely.

Cassandra's head was spinning. How did things get out of hand so fast? Wasn't Hattie just on her side?

Nope, she realized. Hattie had never agreed with her!

Frustration bubbled up inside Cassandra; she had planned to win Hattie over, but instead, she ended up embarrassing herself.

Feeling slighted, Cassandra shot back, "I'm not wrong! That's my grandma! She's an outsider taking over our family's assets. It's not right!"

Hattie retorted, "Then why don't you go ahead and sue my daughter? The door's right there. Don't let it hit you on the way out!"

Hattie was fiercely protective of Josie, remembering all the struggles her daughter had faced, it broke her heart.

Cassandra had walked right into it, and she had it coming!

No one was going to badmouth her daughter on her watch!

Just then, Josefina walked over.
