Mine novel Chapter 55

Roy was fuming with anger. His wolf slowly taking over. He had feared something bad had happened to his mate due to his negligence, his wolf could feel it too. He had imagined she would need medical attention after passing out last night. He even imagined the worse scenario, which was her going into a coma, since she was human. But never did he imagine that he’d find his cousin, Elijah, on his bedroom floor unconscious, in his own pool of blood, with his mate no where in sight.

His anxiousness didn’t let him pick up the all too familiar scent in his bedroom at first, but now that he knew why his wolf was restless did he perceive that bastard’s scent in his bedroom. He turned into a half shift and ran out of the room with only one intent in mind, and that was to kill Hugh. He was stopped halfway into his journey by his uncle, who tackled him to the ground.

“Don’t go like this. You’re not prepared” Alan said to him.

“Let me go. You’re letting him get away” he growled

“Going like this will only make you fight blindly”

“I. Said. Let. Me. Go” Roy said through gritted teeth, internally fighting with his wolf that was ready to tear his uncle apart.

“Roy, I can’t let you go like this”

Alan’s statement infuriated Roy’s wolf, causing it to completely take over. He bit Alan’s neck and threw him off his body.

“I AM YOUR ALPHA AND I EXPECT YOU TO OBEY ME!” Roy yelled in his alpha voice.

Christine stood in the corner, watching in horror the confrontation going on between Roy and her mate, not planning on saying anything so she doesn’t upset her Alpha even more.

Roy resumed his journey out of his house, but was again stopped, this time by Alan’s voice.

“I know that perfectly well, Roy, but I'm also your uncle, so I know what’s best for you. If you walk out that door in this state, you'll only end up getting yourself killed, thereby handing your mate to Hugh on a platter of gold… Believe me, Roy, that’s what he wants”

Alan’s statement made Roy halt in his steps, internally fighting with his raging wolf, whether or not to listen to his uncle.

“We both know he wouldn’t touch a single hair on her head” his uncle continued

In that moment, Roy came to the realization that Alan was right. He wouldn’t hurt Kimberly. He would rather die than lay a finger on her.

“I know you’re hurt, and so am I… I can as well run off to the white moon pack and challenge Hugh for laying his finger on my son, but that’s not how things are done”

Roy was now glaring at his uncle. If looks could kill, Alan would probably be six feet under by now.

Alan knew what he was doing was wrong. Telling an alpha how to run his affairs was so wrong, especially when it had to do with their mate, but he was willing to take that risk because he didn’t want to lose his nephew. He had made a promise to Roy’s father, his previous alpha, that he would take good care of his son and guide him in becoming a great alpha.

“Roy. This is your chance to take what is rightfully yours”

Jason tried to stop his father, but Sebastian ignored him, telling him he was doing it for his own good because, Mason already had some advisers on his side and he didn’t want them conspiring against his son in the future.

Jason reluctantly accepted his dad’s decision, but he made a promise to his father, that he would make the pack one again, even if it was the last thing he did before his death, but that never happened.

For years, wars broke out between the two packs that used to be the biggest and strongest pack in America, until two generations after when a peace pact was signed between both packs, to end the war and to never step foot in each other’s territory, except for official reasons. But, Hugh broke that pact some weeks ago and went as far as killing two members of the blue moon pack.

Roy’s thoughts was in a mess. He was thinking about his pack members that were killed, then his mate, Kimberly, who was currently kidnapped and now he has to think of a bloody war?

Well, either way, this war was bound to happen, but he never imagined it would happen during his lifetime.

His uncle is right. He needs to make use of the opportunity and take back what rightfully belongs to him, which was long overdue.

With that final conviction, Roy looked his uncle straight in the eye and said

“What’s the plan?”
