“Do you really have to go?” Kimberly nervously asked as she watched Roy put on a black t-shirt. She dreaded the idea from the moment the words came out of his lips hours ago.
“Please, don’t go.” She pleaded when she got no response to her previous question, which only meant one thing.
“I have to.” He replied confirming her fears.
Kimberly didn’t like the idea. There was an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach, like something terrible was going to happen.
“Please Roy, I don’t want to lose you.” She was already in tears.
Why was he acting like this wasn’t much of a deal when she could feel an unbearable pain in her chest.
Taken aback by her sudden change in reaction. Roy stopped what he was doing on his phone and went to her. She had her back against his bedroom door as she sobbed.
“I’m not going there to die. I’m just going to have a word with him.” He explained as he cupped her face in his hands.
“I- it’s j-just… I have a bad feeling about this.” She sobbed, wrapping her arms around his torso. He returned the embrace and placed a kiss on her hair, as she cried into his chest.
Her sobs slowly turned to sniffles, indicating that she had stopped crying but she wasn’t letting go of him and he knew why.
Roy knew Kimberly was scared of being left alone because of the stories she has heard about Hugh and there was no way he would let her be by herself, that was why he asked his beta to remain here with a few of his warriors to guard his house and make sure nothing happens to his mate.
“Promise me, you’ll come back?” Kimberly suddenly asked, pulling away from the hug so she could look into his eyes.
“I will. I promise.” He calmly replied even though he felt otherwise. He had to act calm for her sake.
“Roy, we have to leave now.” Alan said through mind link, ruining the moment.
Roy mentally caused his uncle for preventing him from claiming what was his, but at the same time glad he hadn’t gone through with it because that would only mean he was taking advantage of her and he didn’t want that.
He hesitantly removed his lips from her neck.
“I have to go now.” He quietly said, ignoring the disappointment in her eyes.
He placed a kiss on her forehead and walked out of the room, not bothering to look back because he would be tempted to stay if he did.
“Please, come back to me.” She whimpered, making her way to his bed where she cried to her hearts content.
