Pale-faced, Liam trembled. “Dad… I can’t go to jail! What will happen to Demi if I do? I-I only did this for our family…”

“If you really did it for us, it’s all the more reason for you to turn yourself in! We can only overcome this hurdle if you and Matthew take responsibility. You’re a dutiful son-in-law; surely you don’t want to see your mom and I live on the streets,” James replied coldly.

Liam looked at Demi helplessly. However, she turned her head and looked away.
