Mated to the Dragon Twins novel Chapter 11

Aria POV

It's the day before my birthday and to say I'm nervous is an understatement, the guys have been super supportive and have tried to keep my mind from wondering if I'll get my dragon or not.

I lay on my bed staring up at the ceiling in my room my mind wondering about the dream I've been having since I left Azira the one with Dragus and Darian each time its the same thing and that voice in the wind saying the same thing "MATES" I wonder if it's true I mean I wouldn't mind any girl would be lucky to have either of the twins as a mate but there's little old me that may have both of them.

I'm startled from my thoughts when a knock at my door pulls me away from my wandering mind, I lift myself from the bed and pad my way over to the door of my room I swing the door open and find Landon and Duncan standing in the hall both smiling at me as I stand there taking them in I cock my head to the side and raise an eyebrow at the pair wondering what there doing.

"Erm... it's your birthday and we wondered if you had any plans for it?" Duncan says beaming me that million-dollar smile I'm sure he flashes all the girls.

"Nothing I haven't even thought about, to be honest," I say turning to walk back into my room leaving the door open as an invitation to the boys to follow me in which they do without a second thought. I flop down on the bed when I hear Duncan let out a sigh before flopping down on the bed next to me with his arm propping up his head.

"Come on Ari, you have to do something it's your eighteenth you cant just stay in your room"

"I have to agree with Dunk on this one Ari your regret it later if you choose to stay in," Landon says coming to sit next to me on the bed, sometimes I wonder how I managed to find such great friends when my life has been a series of bad thing after bad thing happening to me. I glance between the two before I resign with a sigh.

"Ok, what do you have in mind?"

Duncan rolls off the bed and jumps to his feet clapping his hands together while smirking at me, I look at Landon and he just shakes his head while chuckling at Duncan.

"Well first we're gonna have some pre-drinks at the house and then we make our way to Tanza and party the night away were make sure it's a birthday you won't forget Ari!"

I chuckle at his enthusiasm and can't help the smile that spreads across my face these are the moments I envisioned my life being like planning on going out with my friends having fun just normal stuff, Duncan rambles on about what alcohol he needs to buy while Landon agrees with his choices I'm brought back to my thoughts as Landon lays his hand on my shoulder I look up to him and smile at him just feeling the love from these guys is what any girl could ask for in friends.

"Alright alright, you win I need to get an outfit for tomorrow so I suppose I can rope Dana into coming shopping with me" we all turn as the door to my room swings open and Dana strolls in with a dress bag slung over her shoulder and a box under her arm.

"Too late for that girlfriend I've already sorted the outfit and shoes because you know I'm great like that" I can't help but shake my head at her as I chuckle this girl is like a godsend to me sometimes I don't know what I'd do without her.

"I also have another surprise for you that should be arriving in about 30 minutes," she says as she looks at her wristwatch my brows furrow as I look at her trying to work out what the surprise could be but trying to read Dana is like looking at a stone you get nothing I suppose she would be great a poker I resign to just waiting to find out.

Dana hangs the dress up and puts the box down in front of my dresser "Do not open it until tomorrow" she warns me looking at me dead in my eye this girl can be scary at times I put my hands up in surrender as she smiles at me.

"Why don't we go and watch a movie and chill out in the entertainment room?" Landon asks as he gazes at us all.

"Ariel are you ok?" I look into her eyes as she turns and looks behind me where I see Duncan standing just as stiff as she is, it's like time stands still as I hear them both say "MATE" before they run into each other I all but throw myself out the way trying to not get bowled down by Ariel.

Me Dana and Landon all look at each other before looking back at Duncan and Ariel as Duncan wraps his arms around her waist and buries his head into her hair Ariel wrapping her hands around his neck and holding on to him as she lays her head in his chest.

I look at them and a pang of jealousy runs through me at the sight of them as I wonder what it would be like to have a mate and if they would look at me the way Duncan looks at Ariel, I suppress that emotion as quickly as it appears as all I want is to be happy for the both of them I think Ariel will be a good influence on Duncan and maybe he can help her to lighten up a little.

"Alright then......Movie anyone?" Landon says as me and Dana plonk down on either side of him, Duncan and Ariel curl up on the opposite sofa together as we decide to watch the new Avengers film the guys groan but I know they secretly enjoy it.

I don't know when my eyes start to close but I find myself drifting off to the darkness as sleep takes hold of me.

I'm back in my dream in the clearing with Darian and Dragus the same dream I've been having for the last two weeks this time though it seems different I hear the same voice that says "MATES" but this time it sounds louder and clearer as if the person the voice belongs to is standing beside me. I cast my gaze across the clearing looking for a source of the voice when I see two emerald eyes staring at me from the shadows hidden by the trees. The eyes that stare back at me remind me of my own eyes and we lock eyes with each other before I find myself asking the eyes a question.

"Who...who are you?" my voice breaking as I ask the question, the eyes don't reply right away and I wonder if they are ever going to answer when I hear the melodic voice.

"Not yet little one but very soon I will reveal myself to you" before I can ask anything else the emerald eyes disappear and I'm thrown back into my body, I wake up with a jolt and realise that I'm back in the entertainment room passed out with my head laying on Landon's shoulder his soft snores filling the room I turn to see Dana laying across my lap with her hair stuck all over her face, I wiggle my way out from between them and climb over the back of the sofa and make my way up to my room I can hear noises coming from Duncan's room and I already know what those two are up to and I don't want to hear my best friend fucking her mate so I continue on my journey up the stairs to my room. I walk in and close the door before I make my way over to my bed and slid under the covers I stare at the ceiling 'it's my birthday tomorrow let's see what happens'...........
