Colin was struck speechless. It took him a while to compose himself before he looked at Damien again, asking, "Didn't he cause trouble at the wedding yesterday?"

"He gave up," Damien said, his voice low and indifferent. "We're all smart enough not to waste time on a hopeless cause. If he and Lucy were meant to reconcile, they would have done so by now. After tormenting each other for years, it's better to let go. He's moved on."

Colin did not know what to say. Despite his general dislike for Lennon, hearing that he had given up so quickly stirred some discomfort. Lucy is such a fantastic woman... couldn't he have fought a little harder?

"Let's not dwell on other people's drama," Damien said, shrugging. "The documents Lenn prepared for you are top-notch. Half an hour before the meeting starts—that's enough time."
