Married To The Mad Vampire Lord novel Chapter 225

Chapter 225: Bloodlust_Part 2

"I know you won’t like this, my love, but it is the only way to stop this," he told her urgently as he grabbed the maid and made her kneel before his wife. Then, using his claw, he cut her wrist and held the hand towards Belle’s pale lips that were trembling.

Belle looked down at the wrist held to her mouth through the chaos inside her. She wanted to push it away and demand what he thought he was doing by holding a bleeding wrist to her mouth. But before she could do that, the baby took control of her strength again, and without hesitation, she grabbed the hand and then closed her mouth against the bleeding cut and began to savagely suck on it like a lifeline, her eyes closing as the warm blood flooded into her mouth and down her throat.

Due to the intense relief it brought her, her eyes closed in pleasure and she continued to suck, making noises in her throat like she was enjoying it.

Rohan sighed in relief as he watched the color return to her pale face as she sucked on the girl’s wrist. He finally took his first calming breath since the weeks his unborn child had begun to demand for blood and he had delayed it because of his wife. Now he sat down beside her on the floor, stroking her hair as she fed the vampire.

He even retrieved his handkerchief and used it to gently dab at her sweat-covered forehead. When he moved to dab the side of her lips, she growled at him in protest, as if she thought he was about to take the meal away from her.

Rohan chuckled softly. "You can have it as much as you want. I’m not taking it away," he whispered tenderly as he continued to stroke her hair, gently brushing the damp strands that clung to her sweat-slicked forehead back behind her red-tinted ear.

Even as the human she drank from began to grow pale and visibly weak from blood loss, Rohan still didn’t stop his wife. He patiently sat there, waiting for her to have her fill. Why should he stop her, when he was finally having a moment of peace? It felt like a heavy burden had been lifted off his shoulders—seeing her finally enjoying something, truly taking what she needed, after weeks of turning down everything he brought to her, refusing to eat or drink no matter how hard he tried.

For the past months, he had studied her pregnancy and the changes it brought to her, making sure he wasn’t doing anything wrong. And though the baby was not like him, who had broken his mother’s ribs, it wasn’t entirely innocent either. It would stop kicking whenever it heard Rohan’s displeased voice or his singing voice, but even then, he knew his child was hungry, and human food was not what it wanted.

Belle had craved many sweet things, but those were only her own cravings—not their child’s. And now that the baby was finally satisfying its craving, it didn’t seem like it was going to stop anytime soon.

While she still sucked at the human’s wrist, Rohan reached out and placed his hand gently on her belly, clicking his tongue. "Isn’t that enough, little brat? The human is dying," he whispered to his unborn child. But if the little brat heard him, it responded by making its mother suck even deeper and more urgently, as if afraid Rohan would take the human away and stop its meal.

Looking at the human, who had passed out, her breathing shallow and heartbeat faint, Rohan knew there was no way the maid would survive this. Yet, he couldn’t bring himself to stop his wife just because the human was dying. So he let it continue. He didn’t interrupt her and simply sat there, gently stroking her hair, until finally, the human stopped breathing and her heart fell still. Her body sagged, lifeless, against the floor.

It was only when there was no more blood left in the maid’s body that his wife finally pulled back, her lips smeared with crimson. She swayed sleepily, her strength spent. Rohan leaned in and gently pulled her head against his shoulder.

Then, with slow, deliberate care, he lowered his face to hers and ran his tongue along her mouth, licking away every trace of blood from her lips and the corners. He slipped his tongue into her mouth, making sure to clean out every little trace and scent of blood into his own. Only when he was certain she was completely clean did he pull back.

Her breathing eased, the chaos within her subsiding as their child settled. Her eyes fluttered shut, and she drifted to sleep against him, leaving Rohan to exhale in quiet relief. She hadn’t seen what she’d done, that she had killed someone unknowingly by taking too much blood. And knowing his wife, she would never forgive herself for it... even though it wasn’t her fault.

Unknown to Rav, no drinking from a bowl would have satisfied the baby she carried inside her. Rohan had done what he thought was best to save someone close to his heart. To him, the maid was a nobody, and he would kill more if he had to, to make his wife and child healthy.

Rav couldn’t help but think that had it happened that he wasn’t a vampire, he would have turned gray and old before his time for everything that kept giving him a near panic attack since they moved to this land.

He couldn’t help but begin to miss Nightbrook, where he did not have to carry the worry of his master killing and the servants acting up and being disobedient.

"What do you suggest, my Lord? How are we going to make sure they don’t suspect this house? She has a record with the magistrate that she works here, and it’s known that she was employed by someone in this household. How are we going to ensure her death doesn’t trace back here?" Rav finally asked Rohan, who had gotten up from the bed.

"We’ll make it look like an animal attack in the woods. Just because she works here doesn’t mean she doesn’t sneak out at night to meet a lover. It’s easy, we’ll make it seem like she was attacked on her way to meet that lover. When the sun sets and the night falls, I’ll carry the body to the woods. For now, hide the body somewhere," Rohan instructed, and Rav nodded, knowing the master would handle everything.

Rav moved forward to lift the body but stopped suddenly when he saw who the dead maid was. It was none other than the girl named Dayna, the same one who always cleaned the halls and always ended up being the one whose blood was taken.
