LUNA
A day passed without Dylan and I talking. I don't greet him even though I'm too worried because of what Trey did to him.
I also went into the office because there was so much piled of work and reports that I had to review. My gaze was taken away from the papers when my secretary entered.
"Ma'am, your husband is here." She said.
He will probably pick me up because today is the date of my ob-gyn check-up.
I cleared my throat and cooled my expression. I pretended to be looking at the sales report. "Let him in."
The woman nodded and left. In less than a minute the door immediately opened.
I immediately smelled his familiar scent. "Hi."
"What are you doing here?" I said coldly. I turned pale when I saw the wound on his lip and a bruise on the side of it. The middle part of his nose was also cracked which he just covered with a band-aid. "What happened to your face?"
He grinned and stroked his jaw. "This is a lesson for me."
"Kris did that?" Oh, I'm going to kill them! They smashed my husband's face.
"Yeah. I deserve this."
"I-Is it painful?"
He approached my desk and smiled as if he was not in pain. "I'm fine, Baby. Stop worrying."
I averted my eyes and pretended to read a lot. "I'm not worried, no."
He circled on my table and bent down to see what I was doing. I immediately avoided the paper and stared at him. "Mind your own business."
"Now your check-up is scheduled. I'm here to pick you up."
I smirked at him. "I know how to drive a car. I'll just follow you."
I could hardly breathe when his lips and my cheek were almost touching because of their closeness. "Your paper is upside down."
When he said that, I only noticed that the letters were upside down.
I gulped and didn't change the position of what I was looking at so that I wouldn't be embarrassed. "W-Why do you care? I prefer to read this way. This is how I want it to be. You’re so nosy."
He sighed. His breath hit my cheek.
"If you say so, Baby." I was startled when he took my hand and wrapped our fingers around it. "Let's go. We need to see your ob-gyn now. Please, don't be stubborn. It's for the good of you and the baby."
My eyes widened as he took off his white polo and threw it in the back seat.
"What the .."
A corner of his lip rose. "Why? You said it stinks, that’s why I removed it.”
My tongue twitched as my gaze dropped to its muscular chest as well as to its washboard abs.
I swallowed and averted my eyes. I heard him laugh softly.
"Don't stare at my abs. I don't want our son to come out more muscular than me."
I groaned in frustration. I folded my arms and looked out of the car. "Don't worry. I won't conceive you because I don't want my son to be stupid like you."
He went silent at what I said. He started the car and manoeuvred out of the clinic parking lot. From my peripheral vision, I saw him breathe deeply and then caressed his jaw.
"Don't you have any other clothes? You might get sick." I said. I avoided having a streak of concern in my voice.
"Don't worry about an idiot like me. Because idiots don't get sick easily. And it's not worth worrying about someone like you that I hurt because I'm an idiot." He said seriously, but I could see the pain in his eyes and voice.
