Married By Mistake novel Chapter 30

DYLAN CADEN REYES

"Am I gonna do this?" I whispered to myself while in front of the high gate of Luna's house. I smirked. "Of course, asshole."

I slowly climbed the gate wall. I made sure no one could see me. Five security guards guard the house so I should have been more careful. I was hiding behind a wall when a security guard turned around. I saw how his flashlight flashed. I breathed a sigh of relief when he finally left.

I looked up at Luna's bedroom window. I didn't want to waste time so I climbed the mango tree across from her room. It was high enough for me to reach the balcony of Luna's room. I tried not to make any noise until I stepped on the concrete balcony.

I approached the double doors. I peeked there and saw that the lampshade was still open and Luna was reading a book while leaning against the headboard of her bed.

I knocked on the double door. I got her attention. My heart was beating fast as she approached me and puckered — when the double doors opened.

"What are—" I covered her mouth and slowly pushed her back into her room.

When we entered, she pushed my hand away. I turned to her and closed the double doors.

"When do you learn climbing house? And what are you doing here?" Her cheek flushed with annoyance.

My expression became soft. "I want to see you."

I tried to reach her but she moved away. I dropped my hand to my side. "Dad has already warned you that he will shoot you when he catches you approaching me. So if you still want to live, go away."

"My life is also meaningless without you. So, it would be better if I die now and you will be the last one I see." I said sadly. she averted her gaze. I tried catching her gaze but she closed her eyes. I pressed our foreheads together. "Baby, look at me. Open your eyes."

She opened it but there was no trace of any expression. "Dylan, leave us alone. This is what you want, right—"

"What I want is to be with you."

His eyes lit up. she stepped back twice. "You pushed me away, remember? You almost stabbed me with the annulment papers just so I could sign. Then—"

"I'm sorry. I just felt so insecure. Sky has played a big role in your life, and I know how much you owe him. What if he tells you to just stay there with him and you agree? Damn it, Luna. You're so kind to everyone, and I'm damn crazy about it. "

"You just don't trust me. You're too narrow and don't want to understand what I'm telling you. One mistake and you never wanted to listen to me. Your love for me is so shallow, Dylan. I hate you for breaking my heart. " I immediately approached her when tears dripped from her eyes. My hands covered her cheek.

"Don't cry. Oh, baby, please. I'm sorry I hurt you continuously. God, Luna, I've made a mistake. But I can still correct it if you give me another chance."

I was hurt when she shook. "Give me more time to heal my wounds because of you."

I sighed. "I promise not—"

"That's where you're good. With your promises that are always empty." He said emphatically.

"Go to sleep. It's already past midnight. Good night, baby Luna. I love you." I whispered.

My steps were heavy as I stepped out of his double doors and reached for the lush branch of the mango tree. I turned around and saw her peeking through the glass of the double doors. There was concern on her face. I smiled at her and started to climb down.

"Dylan." I stopped going down when I heard my wife’s sweet voice.

"Why did you come out? It is foggy outside, You'll get sick. Go back in." I say weakly.

"Hold on tight. The branches are slippery." She said weakly.

"I will." I smiled at her and started to descend.

I want to stay with them all night. I want to snuggle her, feel her warmth. Damn, stupid me. I pushed her away. What kind of demon joined me and I thought of breaking up with her?

When I saw her cry as I forced her to sign the annulment papers, it almost broke my heart. I want to hug her. I want to punch myself for hurting her. Too annoyed with myself I threw away the papers. I went into the room so she wouldn't see how I was going to outburst because maybe when she saw me, she would be scared of me. I pretended to be asleep so that it would not prolong the conversation. I just stay lying down until it closes the door.

As we talk earlier, I was drawn into her eyes. I can't look away.

Her eyes, they used to shine so brightly.
