Married at First Sight (Serenity and Zachary) novel Chapter 5366

“We’ll be eating very soon. Heath, go out and chat with your cousins for a while.”

Serenity urged Heath to go outside and spend some time with Jeanne and Sonny.

After finishing his soup, Heath washed his bowl and returned it to its place. Then he called out to Sonny, “Come on, let’s go outside and talk about work.”

Sonny turned and walked with him, saying as they went, “I’m off work now, so I don’t want to talk shop. People should relax after work. If all you do is discuss work at the office and keep on discussing it after hours, you’ll burn out.”

After work was personal time, a chance to relax both mind and body, instead of remaining tense all the time.

Heath said, “That’s true. Let’s forget work and just relax.”

The two cousins returned to the sofa and sat down. As soon as he sat, Heath reached out to Jeanne’s cheek and said with a grin, “Jiggy was so chubby when she was little. Her cheeks were all soft and pudgy. They felt great to pinch.”

Before he could touch her face, Jeanne grabbed his wrist. Pretending to be angry, she said, “Heath, I’m not a little kid anymore. Now I know why you were always pinching my cheeks when I was young. You thought I was fat!”

There had been a period during her childhood when she was a little chubby.

Sonny laughed. “You guys always loved pinching her cheeks. Jiggy got so angry that she said she’d train hard in martial arts. Once she became strong enough, none of you would be able to pinch her cheeks anymore.”

Heath said, “Jeanne, you should be thanking us for always pinching your cheeks. We’re your motivation to get stronger.”

Jeanne rolled her eyes and protested. “Heath, you’re clearly biased. Whenever anyone wants to pinch Callia’s cheeks, you guard her like a treasure.”
