Harvey was deep in the zone, glancing at Daniel and Maisie periodically. His pale face, though, conveyed seriousness and stubbornness.
He soon flipped his sketchbook, wearing a smile that hinted at his satisfaction.
The subjects of his artistry were Daniel and Maisie, transformed into comic characters with striking realism and lifelike expressions.
Even Daniel couldn't help but praise, "You're truly deserving of your fame with this talent of yours, Newhouse."
"Oh, wait!" Harvey smirked. "Just a little bit more!"
They were taken aback. After a few strokes, the young, handsome man in the drawing transformed into a plump, bald figure when revealed again.
Daniel widened his eyes, and Maisie struggled to suppress her laughter at the unexpected transformation.
"I think MMaisie can release a special edition of the book." Harvey raised his eyebrows. "It'll show what the male lead looks like when he's old, and my drawing will serve its purpose!"
Daniel scoffed. "Wouldn't the female lead age too?"
"No!" Harvey insisted, "Also, you're old to begin with! Even if 20 years have passed, you'll age faster than Ms. Maisie!"
Daniel rolled his eyes, choosing not to engage in an argument.
However, Harvey's demeanor shifted after a while.
He chuckled at himself, saying, "Do you think what I said was crazy?"
"What?"
Before Daniel could react, Harvey produced a syringe from his bag and poked his arm as if he had gone mad.
"Stop it!" Both of them were shocked, rushing to intervene.
"Mm-hmm," Maisie replied, sitting on the couch.
Daniel frowned, more skeptical now.
It appeared Jodie tormented Harvey because he had discovered her secret. What puzzled him was whether she could truly deceive everyone, even Wilfred and Delilah.
If that were the case, why did they choose to turn a blind eye?
-
Delilah was furious and stormed out of the crowd.
Lena and Chris noticed and exchanged glances, ready to take action.
Lena followed behind Delilah, signaling Chris when the time was right.
