Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) novel Chapter 3508

At Larch Island…

Ainsley sat inside the Governor's Keep, discussing the island's economic development with Bram.

"Before Matteo left, he proposed upgrading Larch Island's infrastructure to match that of a small town," Ainsley remarked.

"How is the progress so far?"

Her sharp gaze shifted toward Bram, who sat across from her.

Bram's expression turned serious as he pulled out a document and handed it to a waiting attendant.

"We've been making swift arrangements," he reported.

"So far, eighty percent of the island's buildings have been renovated. We've also expanded the security team and surveillance system under the Island Watch to ensure the entire island is covered without any blind spots."

Ainsley nodded as she listened to his report.

"Has there been any news from Matteo since he left?" she asked.

Bram gave a wry smile at her question.

"Governor, rest assured. I've already sent members of the Island Watch to Ore Island to gather information. Based on the timeline, they should be returning around now."

Just as Bram finished speaking, an urgent voice echoed from outside.

"Priority message from the Island Watch! Clear the way!"

A gleam of excitement flickered in Ainsley's eyes.

She immediately rose and strode toward the entrance, her long legs moving with purpose.

Bram, unable to suppress a resigned smile, followed closely behind her.

A scout, his clothes dusted with grime, rushed inside. Upon seeing Ainsley, he dropped to one knee, breathing heavily as he spoke.

"Governor, I was dispatched to gather information on Mr. Larden's whereabouts," he reported. "After thorough investigation, I've located him."

She hadn't yet discovered that Ore Island's Governor was rumored to be an extraordinary woman of unparalleled beauty.

Even so, Bram's expression remained tinged with bitterness.

He had long suspected that their Governor harbored feelings for Matthew.

Ainsley might not have noticed, but Bram had seen the sadness hidden in Matthew's eyes.

That kind of sorrow—it was the look of a man longing for someone he deeply loved.

It was rare, almost impossible, for anyone else to evoke such emotions.

While Matthew was undeniably handsome and composed, Bram was certain he wasn't unattached.

Looking up at the sky, Bram sighed silently.

What a tangled web fate weaves.
