Emil sat anxiously at home, waiting for his uncle's return. What's taking Uncle so long? Shouldn't dealing with a pretty boy be a snap?

Suddenly, rapid footsteps approached, and a soldier from the Island Watch ran into the yard, addressing Emil.

"Emil, Captain Reuben was badly injured when he went to confront that guy at the docks. He's receiving emergency treatment at the headquarters. Do you want to go see him?"

Emil froze, staring at the soldier in disbelief. "You're saying my uncle was badly beaten? How's that possible?!"

If not for the fact that he recognized the soldier as one of Reuben's men, Emil would've thought someone was playing a cruel joke on him.

"It's true. The guy looks deceptively weak, but Captain Reuben couldn't put up any resistance against him."

Emil stood there, stunned, as the soldier's words sank in. "You go on. I'll head over in a bit."

After sending the soldier away, Emil's face twisted in fury as he looked up at the sky and yelled, "It's fake! It's all lies! That weakling must have used some underhanded trick!"

After venting his anger, Emil felt lost for a moment. Then, a thought flashed through his mind. "Right… I could stir up trouble between the docks!"

Mack scratched his head, grinning. "Matteo, is it true, what you said about being able to remove the Gorgon Brand?"

Having seen the question coming, Matthew nodded and explained further, "I have a recipe for a treatment that should be able to break down the toxins in the Gorgon Brand. The brand is essentially like a tattoo made with poisonous, invasive ink. By using specific herbs to neutralize the toxins, the brand should fade away naturally."

As Matthew explained, a fierce hope sparked in Mack's eyes, his voice filled with excitement, "Matteo, none of the guys here are afraid of pain. Whatever you need to do, just go for it. We won't say a word. Just tell us what ingredients you need. If you can get rid of the Gorgon Brand for all of us, you'll be our second-in-command for life!"

The Gorgon Brand had always been a bitter reminder of their enslavement. In the past, some of the men had even resorted to slicing off their flesh to try to remove it, only to fail every time. Now, with a real solution in sight, they couldn't be more grateful. Even if Mack hadn't said a word, Matthew's place in their hearts was solidified by his offer to help free them from their painful past.
