A remote control appeared out of nowhere in Matthew's hand, the red light flashing intermittently. Instantly, the expressions on the faces of those aboard the other boat changed as their eyes locked onto the remote control he held.

The boats were only about 300 feet apart. If what Matthew said was true, a thousand pounds of explosives would detonate, setting off his cruise ship’s fuel tank and leaving no one with a chance to escape. They’d all be dead.

The young man standing at the bow of the boat broke out in a cold sweat. What started as a casual test to see if Matthew was really a novice had quickly gone sideways. He hadn’t imagined that Matthew would turn out to be so ruthless.

"Hey man, we were just joking around. Welcome to the prisoner's paradise!"

The boat retreated and then quickly moved aside. They no longer had the mood to probe whether Matthew had more cards to play. If he really wiped us out, no one would stand up for us, even in death. We would end up as nothing more than shark bait in the sea.

Matthew pressed the red button again, and the cruise ship started moving once more. The fog that had cloaked the nearby islands gradually cleared as they approached the dock. As they approached, he clicked the red button once more and took control of the ship’s wheel, steering it confidently into the harbor as he had some knowledge in this field.

Matthew’s gaze flickered at his words. It was surprising to find someone on this island willing to offer a warning out of goodwill. Such kindness was truly rare. Without responding, Matthew and the man brushed past each other, as if there had been no interaction at all. As he continued up the steps, he stole a glance at the man who had given him the warning.

After leaving the dock, he walked along a short stone path and eventually arrived at a small town that seemed decently constructed. While there were only a few stone houses, the rest were made of wood, looking quite precarious, yet maintaining a town of this size in an area that faced frequent raids was quite a challenge.

In the distance, two burly men noticed Matthew surveying his surroundings. They immediately recognized him as a newcomer who had just arrived on the islands. They exchanged glances, each with the same greedy gleam in his eye. This kid was worth something, and they both knew it.
