Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) novel Chapter 3289

Matthew and Kainne strolled side by side, chatting like old friends.

"Jenny, fetch my finest tea leaves and brew a pot for the Prime Regent," Kainne called out.

Jenny, the maid, paused, clearly puzzled. Kainne usually referred to three types of tea: good, best, and too precious to drink. Which one was he talking about now?

"Sir, which tea exactly should I prepare?"

Kainne felt a headache coming on at her confusion. Matthew’s cryptic smile only made him more uneasy.

"The ones King Gawain I gave, hidden deep in my bookshelf," Kainne almost gritted his teeth as he said it. He had never dared touch those special tea leaves himself.

"Right away, sir." Jenny hurried off, leaving Kainne and Matthew to exchange glances.

"Sir Kainne, you don’t seem fully aware of Montiria's current state," Matthew began. "The unrest is spreading, and it breaks my heart to see things in such chaos."

Here we go. He’s about to make his move.

Kainne waited for Matthew’s next words, bracing himself.

"Do you think taking you away for a few days might calm the people down?"

"What?" Kainne’s face fell into despair. I’ve been waiting for your plan, and now you’re saying you’re going to sacrifice me?

"I need you to inform all the ministers about our plan," Matthew said, his tone serious. "And I don’t want to hear any dissent."

"I understand," Kainne replied. As a seasoned politician, he knew what Matthew was asking without needing further explanation. He’d have to be the one to pressure the other ministers into falling in line, even if they didn’t like it.

Matthew didn’t have to spell it out, and Kainne didn’t need to ask. It was an old story—the carrot and the stick. No one could escape it, not even Kainne.

"Well, I have other pressing matters to attend to," Matthew said, turning to leave. "If anyone causes trouble, just let me know. And by the way, this powder should ease your pain." He handed Kainne a small porcelain bottle.

As Kainne watched Matthew leave, he couldn’t help but wonder, *Why did he prepare everything ahead of time, only to pretend this was all spur of the moment?"

Still in pain, Kainne handed the bottle to the doctors nearby. "Don’t bother with the ointment. Just sprinkle this on directly."
