In the harbor of Concordia, numerous businessmen swarmed into the city and filled it with cruises despite its expansion to three times its original size.
At the same time, dozens of helicopters were parked on the apron in the suburbs.
Socialites and wealthy men arrived at the headquarters of Seraphis Great Commercial Union in fancy cars.
Still, there was a stark distinction in the wealthy men's status.
For instance, Ithel Parelius, the president of Moon Entertainment, had a market value exceeding 10 billion. His investments were scattered across the country, including numerous projects in Seraphis.
As a prominent figure in the industry, others eagerly sought to make his acquaintance.
As soon as he stepped out of his car, a group of people immediately surrounded him.
"Fancy to meet you here, Mr. Parelius."
"Mr. Parelius, I was told you've invested 100 million in a new project along the coastline. Can I collaborate with you on the project, too?"
"A 100 million is like pocket money to Mr. Parelius, but it's all we have. Mr. Parelius, you should teach us about making money some other time."
Ithel knew well enough that these men were seasoned veterans, so he allowed himself to be flattered by their words and agreed to the invitations. There's always a next time.
"Of course! Thank you for your kind words, everyone. I'm merely a humble businessman, so I would be glad to learn from you, too."
At that, he received exquisite business cards from the crowd around him and carefully put them into his pocket.
Yet, he discreetly discarded them into the bin when nobody was around.
After crossing a lengthy corridor, he arrived at the headquarters.
As the host, Jonathan and the other members of the Commercial Union waited at the entrance to greet entrepreneurs from all over the country, along with the wealthy merchants from the coastal regions and business representatives.
"You finally made it, Ithel! Here. You need to down a drink for being late, or else we won't let you off the hook," Lochlan teased as he put an arm around Ithel's shoulder. "Everyone, meet Ithel. He's a good friend of mine. He's the man behind one-third of the popular female celebrities in our country. His capabilities are admirable."
The others took the hint and greeted Ithel with enthusiasm.
"We need to stay in touch, Mr. Parelius!"
"Let's meet up for tea sometimes."
When the men belonged to the same societal group, they treated each other with respect.
After exchanging business cards, the men saved each other's contact details.
Once they exchanged pleasantries, the topic shifted to the trap they set up for Matthew.
They were proud of the outcome as the few fellows profited from the incident.
