Chapter 67
The Lycan King’s words hung in the air, heavier than the blood-soaked ground beneath them. His towering form was framed by the darkened forest, his glowing eyes fixed on Cassian with a calm that radiated absolute power. Around him, the few remaining Lycans stood still, their presence a silent reminder of the devastation they had wrought.
Cassian tightened his grip on his blade, his body tensing as he stepped forward. “If you’ve come to gloat, you’re wasting your time,” he said coldly.
The Lycan King’s lips curved into a faint smile. “Oh, no, Cassian. I haven’t come to gloat. I’ve come to give you a choice.”
Aurora’s heart pounded as she watched the exchange, her breath shallow. The sheer weight of the Lycan King’s presence made her legs feel like lead, but she forced herself to remain standing.
“A choice?” Cassian said, his tone sharp. “You think you can waltz into my territory and demand terms?”
For a moment, the Lycan King seemed to consider the threat. Then he smiled, a cold, dangerous expression. “So be it. But remember, Cassian, every move you make from this point forward plays into my hands. I’ll be watching.”
Without another word, he turned and disappeared into the shadows, his Lycans following silently.
