Luna Aurora novel (Alpha Fenrir) novel Chapter 58

Chapter 58

The tension in the camp can be felt the following morning. The scouts had confirmed Magnus’s forces were inching closer, their numbers swelling with rogues and Lycans. Cassian called for an emergency strategy meeting in the war room, his senior wolves gathering around the table.

Aurora hovered by the door, her fingers curling around the edge of the frame. She wasn’t part of these discussions, but her proximity to Cassian had made her privy to more than a few secrets.

“They’ve moved into position near the eastern ridge,” Nathan reported. “It’s the closest they’ve come without crossing into our territory.”

“They’re daring us to strike first,” Gideon said. “If we take the bait, we’ll lose the advantage.”

Cassian’s gaze was sharp as he studied the map. “They’re waiting for something. Reinforcements? Orders? Either way, we don’t have the luxury of waiting to find out.”

Nathan frowned. “You’re suggesting a preemptive strike?”

Cassian’s jaw tightened. “Not yet. We gather intelligence first. If we move too soon, we risk exposing our weaknesses.”

Iris glanced up, her expression grim. “Bad. The Lycans are enough to turn the tide, and Magnus knows it.”

Aurora swallowed hard. “What can we do?”

Iris paused, then said, “We prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Cassian won’t let this pack fall without a fight.”

Aurora nodded, though her chest tightened with worry.
