Chapter 150
Aurora awoke to an eerie stillness, her body aching with exhaustion. She was lying in a makeshift infirmary, the air heavy with the scent of herbs and ash. As her vision cleared, she saw Cassian seated beside her, his hand clasping hers tightly.
“You’re awake,” he said softly, his face etched with worry and relief.
“What happened?” Aurora asked, her voice barely a whisper.
“The Lycan King retreated, but the damage is done,” Cassian explained. “The Heart of Solara is fractured, and the Pact… it’s different now.”
As if in response to his words, Solara’s glowing form materialized in the room. The ancient spirit exuded a calm but somber presence, her gaze fixed on Aurora.
“You have done well, Aurora,” Solara said, her voice carrying the weight of countless ages. “But the Pact is forever altered. Its energy has found a new vessel.”
Aurora’s eyes widened as she placed a hand on her abdomen, feeling the faint but unmistakable hum of life within her. “My child…”
“Your child is now the bridge between worlds,” Solara continued. “A vessel of the Pact’s essence and a beacon of its potential. This role will define their destiny and the future of all wolves.”
“We’ll protect them,” Cassian said firmly. “No matter what comes next.”
Aurora leaned against him, drawing strength from his unwavering resolve. “The world has changed, but so have we. As long as we stand together, we can face anything.”
The horizon stretched before them, bathed in the golden hues of dawn. Though uncertainty lingered, hope glimmered like the first light of a new day. Aurora held her child close, vowing silently to guide them through whatever lay ahead.
