Chapter 146
Aurora stood at the edge of the pack’s territory, gazing out over the forest as dawn painted the sky in fiery hues. Cassian joined her, his presence steadying her nerves. “They’ll come soon,” he said simply.
“They already are,” Aurora murmured. The Pact’s energy thrummed within her, growing more insistent with each passing hour. She turned to Cassian, her expression unreadable. “You’ll stay with me?”
His response was immediate. “Always.”
The pack worked tirelessly throughout the day, fortifying their defenses and coordinating their strategy. Anica pored over ancient texts with Selene, deciphering the most effective ways to counter the Lycan King’s shadow magic. Erya led training drills, his commanding voice rallying the wolves into action.
Aurora, meanwhile, found herself drawn inward. Solara’s presence was stronger now, the celestial spirit whispering fragments of guidance. She knelt in the center of the camp, her hands pressed to the earth as she listened. The Pact is both shield and sword. Wield it wisely, or lose it forever.
Aurora tightened her grip on the celestial energy swirling within her. “This ends tonight,” she whispered, stepping forward to meet the darkness head-on.
