Madelyn nodded and replied, “Okay trust you.”

Andrew was pleased to hear her response After that, they cuddled together for a while.

Andrew had been busy the past few days, especially with his

upcoming trip to Lotivale. Shortly after, he had to attend a meeting

Alone in the office, Madelyn considered resting in the lounge but was unable to sleep. Hence, she called the hospital to schedule a check- up.

Andrew had to go to Lotivale for a business trip. Madelyn was definitely going to accompany him, considering what happened in their past life. Therefore, she scheduled the visit after they returned.

After hanging up, the detention center called to say Elena had been demanding to see Madelyn.

Madelyn replied, “Tell her that I don’t want to see her.

“But she said she won’t say anything till she sees you. She’s been repeating that for days,” the person on the phone responded.

Madelyn frowned. Wasn’t she supposed to meet Amelia and Caleb

instead?

“Fine.”

Madelyn wanted to see what Elena had to confess. After hanging up,

she checked the time.

Andrew’s meetings typically lasted at least an hour. He had just gone to the conference room and wouldn’t be out so soon. Madelyn briefly Informed Jason before she left.

It started raining when Madelyn arrived at the detention center. The

guard took Madelyn straight to see Elena.

Through the glass, Elena looked disheveled. In just a few days, she had lost her former composure.

When Madelyn saw her, she hastily grabbed the receiver and gestured with her eyes, prompting Madelyn to pick it up.

Before Madelyn could speak, Elena hurriedly said, “Get me out of here!

Her tone was cold and demanding.

“Are you ordering me?” Madelyn scoffed.

“If not, you can forget about seeing your son and daughter ever again,

Elena bellowed.

Madelyn stood up, her gaze devoid of warmth as she stared at Elena

Seeing Madelyn hang up the phone and walk away without a second glance, Elena pounded furiously on the soundproof glass.

When Madelyn passed by the detention guard, she said, “It’s your responsibility to interrogate her. Dorft call me again!”

Thanks to Andrew’s connections, everyone in the detention center treated Madelyn with the utmost deference since her arrival. Sensing her annoyance, no one dared to mention Elena again.

If Madelyn had known how detestable Elena could be, she wouldn’t have bothered coming today. She was wondering what Elena had planned to say. It was clear that Elena would go to any lengths to achieve her own goals.
