On the way back, Andrew held Madelyn’s hand the entire time in the car. Although she seemed carefree with Annie at the restaurant earlier, her mind was in turmoil.

When they arrived at Serenity Villa, Madelyn immediately went to open the car door but was stopped by Andrew.

“Are you upset?”

She turned her head and met his gentle gaze, making her heart ache even more.

At that moment, Madelyn realized that even though she hadn’t mentioned her hospital visit in the morning, Andrew knew everything.

Sensing her hesitation to respond, Andrew pulled her from the passenger seat and into his arms.
