Loved You Once But He's My Forever (Chloe) novel Chapter 544

"Grab onto me, I'll pull you up."

"I can't! I am tired already."

"Don't let go!"

Anna screamed, waking up from a nightmare.

She had a terrible dream about falling into the water, separated from her sister and being engulfed by the waves.

Thankfully, it was all just a dream.

But she quickly realized something was wrong, because the surface beneath her wasn't her soft bed at home.

The room didn't smell like the candles at home either. She was sleeping on the cold floor, surrounded by darkness.

Her clothes were damp and were clinging to her body, making her feel very uncomfortable.

She sneezed.

At less than six years old, she understood some things, but not much.

She was clueless about what had just happened. She sneezed again and rose slowly from the floor.

Where was this place?

Her height was just enough to reach the doorknob. She turned it, pushed the door open, and found a long corridor outside.

The corridor led to several rooms. Anna had just arrived and was unaware of what was happening.

The place was gloomy. It made her feel uneasy. Unlike the beautiful and delicate rooms at home, the walls were roughly plastered with cement. Even the wall lamps were ghastly white.

"Is anyone there?"

She heard a sound from one of the rooms. Her eyes lit up. There was someone down the corridor.

Anna pushed the door open agitatedly. "Hello ... Is ... "

Her voice was caught in her throat. What she saw before her had stunned her.

The room was large, with several stone beds and some doctors in white coats.

They wore masks and had scalpels, syringes, and even large hammers used by orthopedic surgeons.

Several people lay on the stone beds, some unconscious, some disemboweled, while the others...

This reminded Anna of the time when her family took her to a resort for a holiday.

She had wandered into a farmer's house when the farmer was slaughtering a pig. The villagers held down the pig as the butcher sliced through its flesh with a sharp knife.

The ground ran red, and the air throbbed with a sickening, metallic odor.

What lay before her was very similar to what she had seen at the farmer's house at that time, except they were slaughtering a pig.

Anna fell to the ground in fear. The people glanced at her indifferently. She ran for her life.

She thought she must be dreaming, but how could this be so real?

The stench in the air made her stomach churn. Luckily, no one was chasing after her.

At this point, she was clueless why no one had gone after her.

The boy didn't answer. He looked down at their clasped hands.

Then, his gaze slowly shifted to the little girl's face, her cheeks and the corners of her eyes pink from crying.

Her big eyes were filled with tears, her pupils brown and glistening.

She looked like an innocent lamb who had fallen into a pack of wolves.

She held his hand tightly, "We have to find a way to escape."

The boy raised an eyebrow, "Escape? How do you plan to escape?"

"I don't know, but my brother said that the human traffickers will sell you off into forced marriages, so we can't stay here. There will always be a way to escape."

As she spoke, she pulled the boy's hand, dragging him to run forward.

The boy didn't say anything, a hint of interest flashing in his dark eyes.

At this moment, Anna had already run out of breath.

Someone was approaching them. Anna immediately stood up before the boy.

"Run!" Anna told the boy.

The boy stood still, showing no fear. Looking at the little girl trembling with fear, a cruel smile appeared on his lips. "You can't escape."

"Why?" Anna was confused.

The next thing she knew, the person approaching stopped and greeted, "Young Master."
