However, no matter how much I tried to talk to the twins, it didn't work. Even the psychologist I hired couldn't help them at all.
Time slowly passed, but the twins didn't walk out of the shock of seeing Irvin in a coma and return to being ordinary children. Instead, they became even more mature and stopped talking as much.
When they turned four years old, they made two different wishes. One of them wanted to become a great scientist, while the other one wanted to be the best doctor in the world. That way, they could join forces in the technology and medical industries to wake Irvin up.
Most children didn't like studying and would cause a scene when they had to do it. However, my twins were pushing me to find them various teachers.
They were only four years old, but they never thought about playing. Instead, they were studying as hard as they could while wishing they could grow up soon.
I didn't want them to live under such heavy pressure and grow up without memories of a regular childhood. However, no matter what I did, it wouldn't work at all.
There was a downside to having intelligent kids, and that was that they could see through me all the time.
They didn't want me to worry about them anymore, so they said, "Mommy, don't worry about us or think we're under a lot of pressure. If it weren't for Daddy, we would've died a long time ago."
"Instead of being dead, we're stronger than any other kids. So, you should cheer up, Mommy. We're living a great life now."
Mason really was Irvin's closest aide, and he treated the latter better than Irvin treated himself. When Irvin stopped asking for my forgiveness, Mason would continue doing it for him. He would say that Irvin was blinded previously when making all those mistakes back then.
He swore that Irvin had learned his lesson. From what I had heard, Irvin even risked his own life multiple times for me. Of course, no one was perfect, and Mason begged me to give Irvin another chance for the twins' sake.
I longed for my parents' love when I was young, but I never received it. So, I swore I would never have children if I didn't want to. However, if I did have children, I decided that I would give them a happy life and make sure their parents loved them.
That was why I allowed Irvin to continue seeing the twins, despite not wanting to have anything to do with him anymore. I even allowed him to take care of them.
