Love Burned, She Rose Unscathed novel Chapter 902

“That’s fantastic!” he exclaimed, nearly jumping for joy. “I understand, Gentry. My parents and I are heading to the city in a couple of days, so I’ll visit Arkle then… Yes, don’t worry, everything’s been taken care of… No, I’m not lying. The Moore brothers were taken away by the police yesterday… Okay, we’ll talk more in person.”

As soon as he hung up, Mamie blurted out, “Was that about Arkle?”

Carlson turned to Owen, his eyes welling up. “Mr. Reynolds, thank you… thank you so much. Arkle’s uncle, Gentry, insisted that I thank you in person on his behalf!”

Mamie blinked. “What happened?”

“That was Arkle’s uncle on the phone. He said Arkle is awake!”

“Really? That’s wonderful!” Mamie beamed. “But why are you thanking the professor?”

“Gentry said it was Mr. Reynolds who arranged for Arkle to be transferred to the city hospital and brought in specialists for a consultation,” Carlson explained. “They managed to wake him up without even needing surgery.”

Roseanne looked at Owen in surprise. “When did you arrange that?”

“Yesterday.”

“Why didn’t you say anything?”

“I contacted the hospital on the way here.”

“You always think of everything.”

Corley Sullivan was bewildered. When had he contacted them? Weren’t they together the whole time yesterday? Except for… that moment when he went to get men from Neal…

Well, I’ll be damned.

Leave it to him to find an opening even then.

Corley paused for a moment. “…The family estate.”

He decided to check on Kathleen Rodriguez. Teague Sullivan was a man of his word, and a ruthless one at that. He hadn’t set foot in the old house since he moved out. The butler had told him that Kathleen had gone from being “extremely unstable” to being “much quieter” lately, as if she had accepted her new reality. But Corley knew his mother. She wouldn't give up that easily.

As May approaches, the weather gradually warms up. Nature is awakening, and the spring is full of vitality. After returning from Carlson’s house, Roseanne first went to the hospital leadership to explain the situation of Carlson Smith and Arkle, applying for a period of leave for them and completing the necessary procedures. She also needed to explain things to Madeleine Payne.

After listening to Carlson Smith's ordeal, Madeleine turned away. Roseanne knew she was secretly wiping her tears.

"I knew a long time ago that the child is very good, very outstanding, and occasionally thought it was a pity that such a good talent ended up under Edna Moore's tutelage, but I never imagined his family would be in such difficulty..."

"After he transferred to me, I never took the time to understand these circumstances, and in this regard, I have been negligent."

"Here's one hundred dollars; please give it to him for me. It's not much, just a small gesture of care from me as a mentor. I believe he wouldn't take more than this."
