Lost Me, Gained Regret (Jane and Bryant Ferguson) novel Chapter 877

Norman pondered for a moment.

"Here’s the plan: when Dailey's birthday comes up next month, let's invite the Carters over. That'll be the perfect time to announce the engagement."

Jayne was concerned. "After what happened with the Sinclair family last time, I really think we should give him a little more time."

Norman replied, "How much time have we already given him? It's no use. We need to be direct."

"But if we push too hard, Dailey might... After his birthday, he's supposed to take over as the head of the Clarkson family."

"Do we just stand by and watch him marry that woman?"

That was definitely not the outcome Jayne wanted.

Yet, she wasn't thrilled about the alternative either.

"Let's just have them meet at the birthday. No need to announce anything. If anyone asks, we can keep it vague."

"After the birthday, Dailey has to go to Cliffside Town for a business trip. Why not have Miss Carter tag along to build some rapport? What do you think?"

Norman considered Jayne's suggestion and nodded in agreement.

"Let's do it your way."

...

Over the seven-day holiday, Christine put on five pounds thanks to Bella's generous hospitality.

She hurried back to her own place and embarked on a strict vegan diet to shed the weight.

Two weeks later, she finally slimmed down and headed to St. Petersburg to crash a photo shoot.

The photographer for Bella and Raleigh's wedding photos was a young but incredibly talented artist.

Christine adored her photography style.

As Christine bounced around excitedly, Jane grabbed her arm and said, "You're singing and dancing at someone else's wedding."

Christine clicked her tongue, "Jane, ever since we became best friends, I've been trying to get you to share more funny stories, but you never do."

"Now that you're married to Gregory, you've picked up his habit of making jokes on the fly."

Jane laughed, giving her a playful nudge. "Stop teasing me."

She excitedly asked, "How much of a discount?"

The photographer winked playfully. "Ten percent off, just for you."

"..."

"Really, it's only because it's you, Christine. Normally, I charge as much as I can and don't offer discounts."

"..."

Christine chuckled awkwardly. "Ten percent... Ten percent is great."

A little savings was better than none.

After Christine's session was done, the photographer had another job and bid them farewell.

Christine asked, "Why didn't Jane and Gregory hire Gina Sterling for their photos back then?"

Bella replied, "They were going through a divorce at the time. No mood for it, so they went with someone else."

Christine's curiosity piqued. "Did they divorce? Why?"
