Such terrifying power was simply beyond human resistance. Escape! The thought of escape quickly filled Josh Clarke's mind, and an uncontrollable fear rapidly spread within him.
"Master Alliance Leader, are you okay?" Carrie Grant asked cautiously upon seeing Josh Clarke's distressed expression. All members of the Middleton Alliance were filled with despair.
Their legend, their champion, had been defeated by a man from a small region in the East Coast. This was something they could not accept. But everyone knew. In this battle, the Middleton Alliance had lost, and it was a crushing defeat.
After this battle, the Middleton Alliance would need a considerable amount of time to recover.
"Quickly, help me up!" Josh Clarke urgently instructed.
Carrie Grant hurriedly helped Josh Clarke to his feet. Josh Clarke then shouted, "Let's go! We need to leave now!"
"What?" Carrie Grant was stunned. Was Josh Clarke really suggesting they flee? They had come here with great momentum, intending to flatten the East Coast and seize the Dragon Emblem fragment. Now, without even obtaining the treasure, they were going to slink away in defeat?
Seeing Carrie Grant's dazed expression, Josh Clarke slapped him across the face.
"What are you waiting for? Let's go! If we don't leave now, I fear we'll all die here!"
Smiling lightly, Chris replied, "Who said I was going to let them go? I just don't want you to pay a heavier price."
"Master, what do you mean?" James Mester was confused.
Chris didn't answer. Because he didn't have to.
Suddenly, a series of tremors erupted from the ground. Then, commands to "kill them" echoed, followed by a wave of shouts. Battle helicopters swooped in, stirring up a wild wind. A swarm of fully-armed soldiers rushed out, and the fleeing Middleton Alliance members were soon overtaken.
