"Well …"
"One hundred million markups? This is impressive!"
"Geez, when can I be this rich?"
How striking!
All the people were blown away by Chris's bidding.
People then started guessing Chris's identity.
Who on earth was this guy?
Chris's true identity was a mystery to all the people present.
Roger made this trip to the East Coast from Pinkerton specifically for this mansion.
For the Jefferson family to tap into the market of the East Coast, they got to have a place to live.
Cloud Bay was exactly the place that could fit the fame of the Jefferson family.
Roger was determined to get this mansion.
"Hey, brother, whomever you are. You'd better not compete against me or you would regret it."
Roger threatened.
Chris just ignored Roger's threatening words.
"Five hundred million dollars! Any more bid higher than this?" The host asked excitedly.
"Five hundred and fifty million dollars!"
Roger bit the bullet and raised his hand.
"Six hundred million dollars!"
"Six hundred and thirty million dollars!"
"Seven hundred million dollars!"
"Seven hundred and thirty million dollars!"
"One billion dollars!"
The auction for the mansion got to a jaw-dropping one billion dollars.
All the people present were numb about the price at this point.
Money seemed to be like a number to the person sitting in the VIP suite box.
"Who are they?"
Alas!
To their disappointment, the person in that VIP suite box didn't answer Roger's callout from the beginning to the end.
It seemed like Roger was a mere ant to him.
Roger was fuming as Chris just ignored him completely.
As one of the Pinkerton Jeffersons, he was respected everywhere.
He was shocked that a random guy on the East Coast dared to belittle him.
He was asking for death!
"Any more bid higher than one billion dollars?"
The host looked at where Roger was and asked.
Roger clenched his fist together. He wanted to bid, but he knew that he could not waste the money.
If he squandered all the money here, his father and grandfather would for sure punish him.
Roger had no choice but to give up.
"One billion dollars! Going once!"
